It's Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals between the Thunder and the Mavericks. I like the Thunder in this series and think the Mavericks getting past the Clippers was more of a referendum on the Clippers than the Mavericks actually being a better team. That said, I don't think the Dallas defense is anywhere near equipped enough to handle the Thunder offense. OKC is going from playing a team that was 7th in defensive efficiency in the Pelicans to a team that is 14th. OKC cleared this number in all four of the regular season meetings and shot better than 44% from the field in three of the four games including better than 52% in both home games. They also shot better than 41% from three in three of the four meetings. It feels like OKC continues to be undervalued and that they are more likely to beat themselves than have Dallas beat them. If the Thunder don't clear this number it's because they will have a bad shooting game all around. I will trust their 50.8% shooting at home and 39% shooting from beyond the arc on their home floor. Dallas was able to keep the Clippers from scoring because they play a lot slower than Oklahoma City. The Thunder are 7th in pace in the NBA. They average 122.5 points per game at home. Dallas allows 115 points on the road on 47.3% shooting. I think this game total goes over as well as the average total in the four meetings between these two teams was just over 233 with three of the four going over and the only one that didn't was because the Mavericks only scored 86 points. Oklahoma City should take advantage here as they are third in offensive efficiency on the season.
