Very interesting match in the Ligue 1 on Monday, when Lille will play host to Lyon. Lille are sitting 4th in the standings with 55 points (currently in the spot that grants a ticket to the Champions League Qualifiers). They are 4 points above Nice and just 2 points behind Brest, so if they beat Lyon on Monday they will overtake Brest for the 3rd spot that leads directly to the Champions League.

On the other hand we have Lyon, who not too long ago were actually fighting to avoid relegation (not that they would actually be relegated, but it paints a picture about Lyon's resurgence in the second round). In fact, Lyon have been terrific since late December in the Ligue 1 (W12 D1 L4), while losing just 2 of L/15 matches in all competitions (W11 D2 L2) and also losing just 1 of L/8 (W6 D1 L1).

Lyon's resurgence in the second round pushed them from battling relegation all the way up to the 9th spot, where they are sitting with 44 poibnts, now just 5 points behind Lens and the 6th spot that leads to the Europa Conference League next season. If they beat Lille, they will move to the 7th spot, which might also open up a European spot for next season if PSG win the Cup (PSG are playing Lyon in the Cup Final). So, Lyon are more than interested in the win here, as it could be huge for their chances to play European soccer next season.

Lille have kept just 1 clean sheet in L/10 matches in all competitions, with an 8-2 run to the Both Teams to Score in that span, while 5 of those matches also had Over 2.5 Goals.

Lyon have kept just 2 clean sheets in L/11 league matches, with a 9-2 run to the Both Teams to Score in that span, while 8 of those matches also had Over 2.5 Goals.

3 of L/4 H2H matches over the past year had Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals and I expect something similar on Monday. Both Teams will look to deplete their chances for European tickets, and it's not like they will settle for a 1-1 draw, as it doesn't really do much good to either side. Lille have tricky matches gainst Nantes (who are fighting to avoid relegation) and Nice (who are right behind Lille in the standings, while Lyon have an easy match against Clermont (who are sitting dead last) and against Strasbourg (who have probably avoided relegation).

Two good sides that have many offensive virtues but with leaky defenses as of late, I think this match easily starts with Both Teams to Score and we are looking for one more goal to get paid, don't care who wins.

Take 3u on Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals (-125)
