(201349) Atalanta at (201350) Monza

I think this is a very tricky spot for Atalanta coming off their match against Liverpool and for that reason alone I’m not touching them.  In fact, I believe there is a decent amount of value on Monza.

Monza is in solid form right now, quietly I might add as they have just three losses over their last 11 matches.  Aside from allowing ten goals to Milan, Roma and Napoli, they have allowed a total of just three goals in their other eight matches during this run.

At home they have only five losses on the season, though all of those did come against the quality sides in Napoli, Roma, Inter, Fiorentina and Juventus.  Certainly, you would put Atalanta into that category, but again, coming off a Europa match on Thursday night, this is a big ask to be up for this match and grab a win on the road.

I’ll give credit to Atalanta as we always talk about how good they are at home, but they generally don’t have those same results away.  The obviously have the most surprising win away just last week winning 3-0 at Liverpool, but they also won at Napoli and Milan this season as well. 

But again, tough spot here.  To prove that point, just last weekend after their Liverpool match they hosted Verona and couldn’t even win settling for a 2-2 draw.  I think traveling makes it only more difficult.
