10/29 10:42 AM PDT179/180 Kansas State @ ColoradoKansas StateKansas State was minus senior QB Avery Johnson (neck/shoulder) during last Saturday's 28-17 loss at Arizona State, with senior Jacob Knuth on in relief and producing modest stats (26-for-41 but only for 196 yards) in the process. Head coach Collin Klein has now announced that Johnson remains out and will miss another start on Saturday, though now backup Knuth remains iffy as he deals with his own ankle injury, so it is possible, if not likely, that soph QB DIllon Duff, yet to throw a college pass, will be in the lineup at Boulder. Better news is that NFL prospect TE Garrett Oakley (14 career TD catches) is expected to be available after missing the past two games.
10/29 10:40 AM PDT179/180 Kansas State @ ColoradoColoradoQuarterback Julian Lewis, who started the first four games of the season for the Buffs, suffered a medical emergency at the team facility on Wednesday and was transported to a nearby hospital. No specifics were noted though Lewis is reportedly recovering, and his availability for Saturday appears very unlikely (he's been listed as doubtful on the official injury report). Fortmer Utah transfer Isaac Wilson will be making his fourth consecutive start at QB for Colorado.
10/27 3:10 PM PDT249/250 Indianapolis @ JacksonvilleIndianapolisWhelp, that was fast. In the four hours since we clicked "submit" on this Colts-Jaguars preview, Indianapolis has already traded guard Quenton Nelson (to Seattle) and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (to San Francisco).
10/27 1:08 PM PDT201/202 Wisconsin @ IowaIowaIowa running back Kamari Moulton will miss the rest of the regular season as he recovers from a hand injury. Moulton was averaging 6.3 yards per carry with four touchdowns for the Hawkeyes.
10/27 12:53 PM PDT193/194 Mississippi St @ TexasTexasWide receiver Cam Coleman and running back Hollywood Smothers were both limited participants in practice on Tuesday. Coleman was unable to finish last week's win over Ole Miss as he battled a shoulder injury. Star defensive end Colin Simmons did not play last week against the Rebels as he deals with an ankle injury.
10/27 12:08 PM PDT193/194 Mississippi St @ TexasMississippi StMississippi State QB Kamario Taylor will miss the rest of the season with a toe/foot injury. Freshman Parker Puckett and veteran QB AJ Swann will compete for the starting job in practice this week.
10/27 12:05 PM PDT197/198 UTEP @ North Dakota StateNorth Dakota StateNDSU quarterback Nathan Hayes is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. The Bison have a bye on the horizon, so there may be some incentive to get Hayes some rest with NDSU listed as a 24.5-point favorite in this matchup with the Miners.
10/27 11:01 AM PDT183/184 Northwestern @ OregonOregonAfter Ducks QB Dante Moore missed a third-straight game last Saturday at Illinois due to concussion protocols, HC Dan Lanning has said it is unlikely that Moore will be allowed to return to active duty this season. . In his Monday press conference, Lanning was not optimistic that Moore would be able to return during the regular season.
10/27 4:53 AM PDT207/208 Washington State @ San Diego StateSan Diego StateWith QB Jayden Denegal nursing a sore ankle, head coach Sean Lewis went with Stone Saunders last week at Colorado State, and the freshman responded with 369 pass yards and a pair of TDs in a wild 56-49 loss. Though Denegal could be available by the weekend, Lewis has already announced that Saunders will get the starting nod once again for the Aztecs on Saturday at Snapdragon vs. the Cougars.
10/27 4:30 AM PDT195/196 Washington U @ NebraskaWashington UHuskies two-year starting QB Demond Williams, KO'd with a shoulder injury in the loss to Iowa on October 9 and out for the subsequent game at Purdue, returned to practice during the bye week. Though head coach Jedd Fisch has been reluctant to announce Williams' return to the starting lineup due to the superb form of backup Elijah Brown, a former Stanford transfer who tossed six TD passes in six quarters of relief and impressively led the 38-26 win at Purdue on October 16.
10/27 4:16 AM PDT189/190 Ohio State @ USCOhio StateOhio State QB Julian Sayin has been ruled out for the remainder of the regular season due to an arm injury suffered at Indiana on October 17. Head coach Ryan Day is still to decide for this week between true freshman Luke Fahey (who got the call from the bullpen against the Hooisers) and sophomore Tavien St. Clair. Both were decorated high school recruits, though several Big Ten observers wouldn't be surprised if Day uses some combination of both on Saturday.
10/27 4:09 AM PDT185/186 Nevada @ UCLANevadaNevada was down to third-string QB and UCLA transfer Luke Duncan last week vs. San Jose State. There was little drop-off from the two injured QBs (Carter Jones and AJ Bianco; status still iffy for each this week) ahead of him on the depth chart.
10/27 3:08 AM PDT177/178 Connecticut @ Air ForceAir ForceThe Falcons were down to their third QB last week as senior Josh Johnson and freshman Howard FIsher IV had to take snaps at Wyoming following a toe injury suffered by first-stringer Evan Medders, himself in the lineup because normal-starter Liam Szarka went down for the season with a knee injury in the Navy game on October 3. Falcons' head coach Troy Calhoun is expected to announce a starter later in the week as Medders isn't expected to be available again until sometime in November.
10/27 3:04 AM PDT175/176 Arizona State @ BYUArizona StateThe Sun Devils turned to true freshman QB Jake Fette in the second half last week vs. Kansas State after recently-promoted starter Mikey Keene left the game with a leg injury and Kentucky transfer (and former starter) Cutter Boley was once more ineffective, this time in relief. Fette, a highly-touted frosh, directed a pair of late TD drives to get ASU over the hump last Saturday in a 28-17 win. Word from Tempe is that head coach Kenny Dillingham is waiting until alter in the week to announce QB plans for this week's trip to Provo.
10/27 2:52 AM PDT259/260 Kansas City @ DenverDenverA few potentially impactful injury notes out of last Sunday's 30-16 win at Arizona, as both WR Jaylen Waddle (shoudler) and DE Zach Allen (hamstring) left the game in the fourth quarter and did not return. Waddle's injury appears to be more concerning, though the status for both will be updated later in the week. Star CB Patrick Surtain II, who has missed the past three games with an ankle injury, is expected to return to active duty on Sunday.
10/26 2:08 PM PDT191/192 Auburn @ MississippiMississippiOle Miss running back Kewan Lacy has been battling arm injuries over the last month, and he suffered a dislocated shoulder in last week's loss to Texas. Lacy will not play in this week's contest against the Tigers.
10/26 2:08 PM PDT171/172 Arizona U @ Texas TechTexas TechTexas Tech running back Cameron Dickey is expected to return this week after missing the Red Raiders' last two games with an ankle injury. Dickey ran for 1,124 yards with 16 touchdowns last season.
10/26 2:07 PM PDT165/166 Coastal Carolina @ Georgia StateGeorgia StateGeorgia State QB Cameran Brown is listed as questionable on the Panthers' early-week injury reports. Brown was limited to just ten pass attempts in last week's loss at Arkansas State.
10/26 2:06 PM PDT163/164 Missouri @ ArkansasArkansasArkansas' top receiver Chris Marshall is expected to play in this contest. Marshall suffered a leg injury against Vanderbilt in Week 7, but is expected to be cleared for this contest. Through the Razorbacks' first six games, Marshall was averaging 7.0 receptions and 95.5 yards per game.
10/26 2:06 PM PDT127/128 Florida @ GeorgiaFloridaFlorida head coach Jon Sumrall has no intention of announcing his QB plans before this game kicks off. Former starter Aaron Philo has recovered from a shoulder injury that kept him limited in past weeks, but Coach Sumrall said that he may keep the ball in Tramell Jones' hands if he has a good week of practice.
10/26 1:46 PM PDT111/112 Troy @ James MadisonJames MadisonJames Madison running back George Pettaway is not expected to play in this contest. Pettaway was injured in last week's loss to App State. He is averaging 6.6 yards per carry this season with eight rushing touchdowns.
10/26 1:40 PM PDT175/176 Arizona State @ BYUBYUBYU running back LJ Martin is questionable to return this week as he recovers from an ankle injury. Cougars' head coach Kalani Sitake said Martin was "getting closer" but didn't offer a timeline on his potential return. Martin has missed each of the last three games.
