Carlos Rodon is making his third start after returning from injury, and it's been a rocky road thus far. Rodon has allowed eight walks in 8.0 innings pitched since his return as he looks to regain his command. He took the loss in his last start against the Mets, allowing two runs on three hits with three walks in 3.2 innings pitched. Things aren't going to get much easier on Thursday against a Blue Jays' lineup that knows him well. Toronto's current roster is hitting .279 in 121 plate appearances against Rodon with a .370 weighted on-base average. Vlad Guerrero Jr. is 11-for-18 with three doubles and two home runs in prior meetings with Rodon. In Rodon's last start against the Blue Jays last season, he allowed four runs on six hits with five walks in 5.0 innings. Toronto has the fifth-lowest strikeout rate against left-hand pitching this season, so the Blue Jays are going to put the ball in play tonight. This is the fourth game of the series, so Toronto's lineup has seen most of the Yankee relievers by now. The Blue Jays will likely be getting a second look against anyone coming out of the Yankees' bullpen.
