Quick verdict: How legit is Underdog Fantasy?
The DFS site has become one of the go-to options for new and experienced players since it kicked off in 2020. This platform isn’t slowing down, and my Underdog review will break down what makes this site so popular.
If you are new to Daily Fantasy Sports or just want to learn about the Underdog platform, this guide is for you. I will take you through the platform and how it works, covering aspects such as bonuses, payments, and customer support. Once you are done reading, you'll be able to decide if it is indeed a solid platform.
I really appreciate the variety of Pick’em contests at Underdog, with useful stats to help guide my selections. The Best Ball draft contests are another personal favorite, with Battle Royal tournaments that are ideal when I have less time available. The welcome bonuses are state-dependent, but both options provide extra opportunities to make completely gimmie selections, and what’s not to love about that?
I’ve been finding the Underdog platform incredibly easy to navigate, so even if you don’t have any previous experience of DFS, I think you’ll quickly feel right at home here. Fast payments and speedy withdrawals really seal the deal for me, making Underdog well worth a closer look, in my opinion.
What is Underdog?
Follow your entries live at Underdog
Play Pick'em games at Underdog
Before I break down the findings in my Underdog review, I’ll give you an overview of the platform, presuming you are new to it.
Underdog is a daily fantasy sports (DFS) site that allows you to enjoy fantasy gaming in a fast and simple way. It is accessible in 41 US states, but some types of contests may not be available in specific states.
Underdog features various contests, including:
Pick’em
These are games where you predict the performance of individual athletes. The Underdog platform will provide various projections for stats like rebounds, passing yards or points scored.
Your objective will be to predict if a player will perform in line with the projection or lower. If your prediction is correct, you claim a payout. There's also an option to add more than one pick to an entry, with each prediction you get correctly adding more to your payout.
Pick'ems come in different variations, including:
- Pick’em Champions: Here, you play against the house for a share in the Champion Prize.
- Streaks: This is a Pick'em variant where you build a winning streak. The goal is to create a streak of correct predictions, and the longer the streak, the better your rewards.
- Ladders: In this variant, you pick players you believe will go off during the game, and the payout you receive depends on how far each player gets. All players have rungs based on performance, such as rebounds, points, or yards. The more rungs your chosen players reach, the better the multiplier you receive.
Draft contests
This type of contest pits you against other players in a live draft. Each player will pick athletes to develop their lineup, and the type of draft contest will determine the scoring rules and roster size.
Draft types come in different formats, like the Best Ball, which is a season-long contest where your best players receive points each week. There are also short-term options like Battle Royal, which focuses on single events or games.
Bonuses and promotions at DFS: What do you get for creating an account?
In my opinion, bonuses are one of the highlights of any DFS site. The right bonus can help maximize your experience, letting you make more picks than you usually would. For this reason, I spent a lot of time looking into the bonuses available during my Underdog reviews. Here's a list of what I found.
Underdog welcome bonus
The website offers two bonuses, which include:
- Play $5, get $50 in Bonus Entries by using a valid Underdog promo code
- 50% deposit match bonus up to $1,000 in bonus funds
Note that the bonus you get will depend on the state you are located in. While Underdog offers its services in the US, this offer is void in MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, and PA, and you need to enter a valid promo code online or by clicking on the banners on this page.
I checked out both bonuses since I was in an eligible state, and they both worked well. The first offer also works great and requires a $10 minimum deposit. However, the value can be increased with the matched deposit offer that we will discuss shortly. The Play $5, Get $50 in fantasy bonus entries offer is the star of the show. All I had to do was place a qualifying entry of $5 in a DFS contest to be eligible. Then, I received $50 in bonus entries.
The second offer, the match deposit bonus, is a great option if you tend to make lots of picks. New players who make their first deposit will get a 50% deposit match up to $1,000. By making a minimum deposit of $10, you can improve the overall value you get up to $1,000, with the limit being a $2,000 deposit. However, that is not necessary, and players should only deposit within their fantasy sports budget.
Both offers have a 1x playthrough requirement, which is fair, and Underdog gives you up to 14 days to fulfill it, meaning you have more than enough time. Overall, the bonus choices are great, but remember that what you get may vary by state.
To qualify for this offer, you must be 18 years of age or above (19+ in AL, NE; 19 years of age or above in CO for some games; 21 years of age and above in AZ, MA, and VA) and be present in a state where Underdog Fantasy operates. The offer is not valid in MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, and PA. Terms and conditions apply.
Concerned with your play? Call 1-800-MY-RESET or 1-800-GAMBLER or visit www.ncpgambling.org; AZ: 1-800-NEXT-STEP (1-800-639-8783) or text NEXT-STEP to 53342; NY: Call the 24/7 HOPEline at 1-877-8-HOPENY or Text HOPENY (467369).
Refer-a-friend bonus
Just as the name suggests, you get a bonus for referring your friends to register for an account on the Underdog platform. For me, this was an interesting bonus as I have many friends who enjoy playing on DFS platforms. Even better is the simplicity of how the bonus works.
To participate, head to the promotions page and copy your unique referral link. Share this link with your friends, and you receive $10 in bonus funds for each one who registers and makes a deposit. Your friends will also receive the 50% match deposit up to $1,000 in bonus funds.
This is a great bonus that both you and your friends can benefit from, and Underdog does not seem to limit how many people you can invite, making it worth checking out.
Gimme pick
The Gimme pick offer lets you change the standard prediction for one player to 0.0, ensuring you get a win. Your entry has to meet the promo requirements, and predictions attached with payout modifiers won't be eligible for the bonus. What's more, you can only get a maximum of $10, which is reasonable.
Winnings boosts
This bonus boosts the winnings of entries up to a specific percentage. Underdog updates this daily, so there's always an entry to boost. If things go well, you can get winnings boosts of up to 30% or more, depending on the event. Note that this is only up to a maximum of $50, and any additional winnings from the winnings boost are paid in fantasy bonus entries.
Navigating the Underdog website is smooth
In the past, I have come across DFS sites packed with lots of information that makes it seem cluttered and overwhelming. Since I did not want a repeat of this experience, I dedicated a significant portion of my Underdog review to checking out the user experience.
Overall, I was satisfied, and I'll tell you why. First off, registering for an account was straightforward, and I was done in less than 5 minutes. Then, I was greeted with a simple but modern-looking website with a dark background and a blend of yellow and blue colors. I like this combination because it makes gaming sessions more comfortable on the eye.
However, if you like brighter backgrounds, Underdog gives you the option to switch to a light mode. You'll find the option at the top-right of the website, near your profile button. For me, this is a nice touch since not many new daily fantasy sites have this feature.
Navigating the site is also very easy with links to the Drafts, Pick'em, ranking, and other important pages directly at the top. Right below this header is a list of featured entries or picks surrounding the NFL, NHL, NBA, and PGA, among others. Select any of them, and you will be provided with a list of events that you can filter by state.
The promotions page is accessible too, with the Icon located at the top right, directly beside your profile option. Directly underneath the webpage are links to other essential pages like the customer support, terms and conditions, and downloadable apps.
You shouldn't have any issues finding your way around, even if you are new to DFS, as the website has properly structured everything for easy navigation.
Underdog has mobile apps with almost perfect ratings
During my Underdog reviews, I observed that the website is specific about mobile functionality. You can make picks and enter contests on the go using your mobile browser. The website adjusts well to your mobile device screen and retains the same simplicity and ease of use as the desktop version.
If you prefer, Underdog also features dedicated iOS and Android apps. I completed the Underdog login on both platforms and was satisfied with the smooth process. This did not come as a surprise since they have ratings of 4.8 and 4.6 stars, respectively, from thousands of users.
You can click the link for your respective device through the DFS platform to be redirected to the store, or head there directly to start your download. Whichever gameplay option you choose, you'll get the same high-quality experience.

Making payments on the Underdog site is easy
As I explained in my DraftKings Fantasy review, payments play a huge role in the experience you get from any platform. For this reason, this section of my Underdog review will take you through how to make payments here. Fortunately, the website supports many reliable banking methods, including Trustly, PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, among others.
You will need a minimum of $10 to make deposits using any of these options, which you can access by clicking the deposit button. However, any option you use must feature the same name you used in registering for an account with the website. Deposits are instant and don't incur any fees, except those charged by your payment provider.
How about withdrawals?
For withdrawals, Underdog only allows PayPal, Trustly, and PaysafeCard. You'll need a minimum balance of $10, and, like deposits, there is no charge. The website also takes 48 - 72 hours to process withdrawals, which is within the industry average. Sometimes there may be an additional 24 hours of processing time, as I experienced with PayPal. This is to be expected if withdrawing large amounts, so keep this in mind.
Beyond the processing time, payments will take between 1 and 5 business days to reflect in your account, depending on the payment option. While it would be great to see more withdrawal options available, the current methods work seamlessly, giving you quick access to your winnings.
Underdog customer support: Does the team have your back?
During my Underdog review, I was pleased to observe that the website gives priority to customer support. You have multiple options when it comes to getting help, including a 24/7 live chat, email, social media channels, and a FAQs page.
The live chat is your best chance for getting prompt responses, but you will need to have a properly verified account to access this feature. While this may be disappointing considering that many other platforms let you reach the team so long as you have an account, you are instantly connected to a team member once verified.
Sending emails is also a great option if you are not in a rush. The website aims to respond to queries via this outlet within 24 hours. I recommend this option if you want more extensive responses than the prompt ones you get in live chat.
If you follow social media, you may want to check out the Underdog social media pages. The team maintains a solid presence on most platforms, including X, Facebook, Discord, Instagram, and YouTube. These are ideal for asking quick questions.
Last is the FAQs page. I recommend starting your search for help here, since it extensively answers common questions about your account, pick'em, and payments, among others. I've provided a list of all the options in the table below.
| Live chat | 24/7 and can be accessed by clicking the live chat button |
| Support@underdogfantasy.com | |
| Social media | X - @Underdog Facebook - Underdog Instagram - underdogfantasy Discord - Underdog |
| Help Center | Features FAQs with extensive answers |
Is the Underdog website login safe?
Your safety is important when playing on any platform that requires you to enter your information. This is why I looked at the website's licenses during my Underdog review.
I was pleased to find out that the website licenses in the numerous states in which it operates. The states where Underdog is restricted are Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nevada, and Washington.
It also features SSL data encryption, which helps ensure your details are secure when you perform transactions and complete the Underdog login process.
Beyond this feature, the website implements 2FA and biometrics, which you must enter to unlock the mobile app. This ensures safety and security of your account and funds.
Lastly, Underdog is particularly focused on Responsible Gaming and provides many resources to keep you safe. It features a dedicated page that teaches you how to play responsibly and links to reliable bodies that can help you if you are dealing with a gaming problem. The website lists this by state, which I find very thorough.
In addition, it offers many responsible gaming tools, including limits, cool-offs, and self-exclusion. Overall, this platform has all the signs of a secure platform that genuinely cares about the well-being of players.
Conclusion: Underdog is a well-rounded DFS platform for US players
Based on my Underdog review, I have concluded that this platform is a great option for players who don't like complexity. It boasts many impressive features, including an easy-to-navigate platform and an excellent range of bonuses.
When it comes to the DFS selections, there are more than enough here to keep you going. It offers numerous contests around the NFL, NHL, NBA, PGA, MLB, and WNBA, all with excellent prize pools. There are many ways to get help, including a 24/7 live chat, email, FAQs page, and various social media channels.
Overall, this platform has everything that makes your stay worthwhile, in the right proportions. If you're keen to try it out, use the banners on this page to sign up with this platform and start exploring what the site has to offer!
