With a name like Unbox.gg, I didn’t need a fortune teller to know that the site offered mystery boxes. What surprised me were the items in the boxes: gadgets, trading cards, jewelry, and even cars, among others.
I decided to make a complete Unbox.gg review because the platform piqued my interest. The first thing I noticed was that you can use Tokens or Fun Coins. Tokens are for real-money unboxings, while Fun Coins are for fun, like the name says. The items you pull can be sold right back, instantly.
Is Unbox.gg legit?
My straight-up answer to that question is a yes, and there are a couple of reasons why. For starters, the platform uses a provably fair system for its unboxings. That way, I don’t have to just trust that everything is above board — I can verify it myself.
There’s a Know Your Customer (KYC) check, too, although I noticed it was laid-back in some way. You mainly have to get it done before cashing out if you fund your account with fiat money. When you deposit with crypto, it may not be needed.
How secure is Unbox.gg?
Quite secure, in my opinion. The baseline feature is the SSL encryption that runs across the site. I wasn’t hyped about that, though, because it’s on every serious site.
The main draw for me is the two-factor authentication (2FA). Unbox.gg makes the controls more flexible than an on/off switch. I could choose which actions the feature works for, like payouts, changing emails/passwords, ending a session, or tipping.
Mystery boxes on Unbox.gg
Some US mystery box sites throw generic cases your way, but Unbox.gg isn’t one of them. Instead, this brand builds its digital boxes around different themes with cool names. Examples are Vibe Check, 911 Vault, Gold Rush, Poke Vault, and Zoom In.
I counted over 400 boxes on Unbox.gg before I got tired. That should tell you about the quantity on the table. Affordable cases cost less than $1, while the expensive stuff goes for $500+. So, there’s something for every budget.
You’ll see the odds of each item in a box before opening. Plus, Unbox.gg adds a Demo option for a free try. To give you a better picture, here are the items I found in the boxes I mentioned:
| Box | Items |
|---|---|
| Vibe Check | Posters, pencils, tape roll, canvas paintings |
| 911 Vault | Supercars, watches, sunglasses, handgloves |
| Gold Rush | Different gold jewelry, $500 voucher |
| Poke Vault | Pokemon trading cards, booster boxes, toys |
| Zoom In | Cameras, lenses, microphones, HDMI cables |
After unboxing with Tokens in real money mode, I sell the items back and withdraw the cash or keep it in my balance. There’s a shipping option, but I didn’t see clear delivery timelines, so I skipped it. In Fun Coins mode, you can only sell back the items and receive more Fun Coins. They can’t be cashed out.
🎲 Case Battles
If you’d like to go head-to-head with other users, just visit the Battles section. How these battles work isn’t rocket science. Multiple collectors open mystery boxes, and whoever ends up with the highest-value item takes all the items from the battle. It’s literally all or nothing.
Personally, I like to play it safe, so I didn’t really join the battles. Anyway, I looked into them and saw seven types: Jackpot, Crazy, Terminal, Private, Fast, Bots, and Borrow. Each has its own rules, so read the fine print before throwing your hat in the ring.
🔄 Upgrader
A few times I pulled an item and thought, yeah, I could have done better. That’s where the Upgrader comes in. With it, you can turn an item into something worth more, but I must be upfront with you: it’s a gamble.
The Upgrader will ask you to choose the item to upgrade, a stake, multipliers from 1.01x to 10,000x, and Lucky Segments. Naturally, the bigger the multiplier, the slimmer your chances of hitting it.

The bonuses and promos in store
On the Unbox.gg main menu, you’ll see a trophy icon that represents Rewards. That’s where to go if you’re interested in bonuses. I opened it for sure, and here are the offers I came across:
Sign-up bonus/daily free case
At Unbox.gg, you can open a free mystery box every day. This promo is up for grabs right after registration, so it doubles as the welcome offer. Once 24 hours pass, you can open another one.
I’d advise you to keep your expectations low, though. When I opened the box the first time, I pulled a Paper Clip. Guess its value? Just $0.01. It’s far from being a jackpot, but at least it's free. I sold back the clip and had to use the $0.01 to unbox one more time before withdrawal.
Rakeback
This Unbox.gg bonus comes in three types. You have instant rakeback that you can collect at any time and weekly rakeback that drops on Fridays. In addition, there's a monthly rakeback that shows up on the 5th of each month.
Affiliate commission
Bring buddies through your door, and you get a slice of their deposits and unboxings. The Unbox.gg affiliate program runs on the classic referral model. I invited a few friends by sending my unique link to them. The entire thing was hitch-free, and the commissions max out at 15%.
Levels
With 300 levels in total, you’ll agree with me that the Unbox.gg Levels system is towering. While that’s true, the platform splits the levels into 11 tiers, so it’s easy to follow. I started at the first level right off the bat. Climbing up the ranks is based on your Token wagers, and here’s how:
| Tier | Level | Minimum wagering requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Recruit Degen | 0 to 29 | $0 |
| Cadet Dealer | 30 to 59 | $164.44 |
| Private Bettor | 60 to 89 | $877.95 |
| Sergeant Stacker | 90 to 119 | $4,044.76 |
| Lieutenant Chipmaster | 120 to 149 | $12,008.98 |
| Captain Ace | 150 to 179 | $30,296.30 |
| Major Hustler | 180 to 209 | $64,192.36 |
| Colonel Whale | 210 to 239 | $127,736.28 |
| General Highroller | 240 to 269 | $293,908.15 |
| Emperor | 270 to 299 | $1,160,945.82 |
| Supreme Leader | 300 | $9,527,493.85 |
As you reach higher levels, the items you can get from the daily free boxes gain more value.
A usual interface with enough filters
One look at the Unbox.gg web design, and my conclusion was that it’s par for the course. The whole site comes dressed in pitch black, with bright purple accents doing the heavy lifting. I’ve seen several mystery box sites in the US with similar color schemes.
Getting around the PC site is plain sailing since the main buttons sit at the top. There’s a small catch: the brand features icons instead of spelling out the section names. I had to look at the link overview in Chrome to be sure I’m visiting the correct page most of the time.
Once you get your bearings, though, everything else becomes simple. Unbox.gg has filters for price and popularity, so I never have to wade through hundreds of cases to find what I want. A separate price filter narrows things down to ranges.
Is there a mobile app?
No, there’s not. That doesn’t mean you’re stuck at a desk because the website is responsive. The mobile interface swaps the top menu for a bottom one, and this time, Unbox.gg puts the name next to each icon. On my smartphone, it’s pretty much point, tap, and go.

Crypto and card payment options
The Unbox.gg wallet section has Crypto and Cash. Crypto is right up my alley, especially since it comes with zero fees. Plus, the deposits usually take seconds. You can fund your account with as little as $1.
How about cash? Well, the options are debit cards and gift cards. Every $1 you deposit fetches you $1 in Tokens and 20 Fun Coins.
As for withdrawals, I only saw cryptocurrency as an option in the tab. So, payouts should only take seconds as well. Remember that you can only cash out funds in your Token balance, not Fun Coins.
24/7 customer service, but no help center
Support runs 24/7 through live chat and email at Unbox.gg. Without surprises, the live chat is the better option if you want an answer without waiting all day. Replies often drop in less than 10 minutes. On one occasion, an agent, Nicki, replied to me within a minute.
The one thing I missed was a proper help center. It would be cool to have a page with guides or FAQs waiting for common issues.
Unbox.gg gets my green light
There’s a lot to like about Unbox.gg, and it didn’t take me long to realize that. You can open customized boxes with a provably fair system, making sure everything is above board. Not to mention, the site allows jumping into battles and taking a shot at upgrading items. Throw in the hundreds of cases to choose from, and you have a sweeping digital mystery box site.
The biggest fly in the ointment is shipping. Unbox.gg lets you request physical delivery, but there’s no stated delivery window. That’s not a deal breaker, but I’d prefer not to have to wonder when my item will show up.
Aside from that downside, Unbox.gg scores high in my ratings. If you’re ready to start unboxing, click the links on this page to visit the site.
