Quick verdict: How legit is ProphetX?

ProphetX ain’t your bread and butter social betting site. In fact, it’s an industry innovator that flips the script entirely by doing away with the house and letting you trade predictions with like-minded sports lovers instead.

Today, my ProphetX review is here to explain what’s what. But first, let me tell you folks that the brand’s fun, fresh approach works about as well as the Patriots’ dream team did after Tom Brady stepped in for Drew Bledsoe back in ’01. Here’s my take on the site’s concept, bonuses, customer support, and more.

      Andre Miller View profile

ProphetX offers a unique format where it operates as a peer-to-peer social sportsbook, meaning players compete against each other. No money changes hands - everything is done in virtual currencies, which you can collect from referring friends or purchase a Prophet Points bundle.

Thanks to its P2P nature, there are hundreds of sports markets available and other exciting features such as a fluctuating max win potential and incredibly diverse player pick options. You can even make your own custom predictions, which can add an extra layer of excitement if you’re used to making run-of-the mill picks at other social sportsbooks.

Introducing Prophet X – a tense new twist on social betting

The first rule of Prophet X is that Prophet X does things real differently than the rest.

Sure, like other social sportsbooks, my Prophet X review found that no cash bets are accepted here, and that all your plays are powered by virtual currencies instead, with a no purchase necessary policy in place.

But that’s basically where the similarities between this and other social betting sites end – because here, instead of social betting against the house, you’ll be trading picks with other Prophet X users in a stock market style environment that makes regular social betting look like Super Bowl LIII’s notorious snoozefest.

Before my Prophet X review starts talking shop about the sports markets, bonuses and other standout features up for grabs on the site, here’s a quick bullet point guide to how social betting here actually works:

      1. Sign up for an account via any of my banner links on this page – this is a must before you can do anything at all, obviously.

      2. Browse the brand’s “Active Markets” – which are made up of “Yes” or “No” predictions, like “LeBron to hit a slam dunk by half time”, for example.

      3. Take out a “Yes” or “No” position – what does your gut say?

      4. Watch the odds shift – other Prophet X users will back “Yes” or “No” at their end, too, which adjusts the odds of each position in real time.

      5. Stay put or switch things up – you can change your “Yes” to a “No”, or vice-versa, whenever you feel like it, right up until game time.

      6. Win virtual currencies if the match swings your way – I’ll unpack how these work in more detail in the next section.

And that’s the gist of it. With you completely home free to create your own unique picks and put them out to market for other punters to back or challenge at the same time.

If it all sounds a bit odd, but also like a lot of fun, that’d be because it’s both – Prophet X is a real game changer, offering a completely different experience than what my Onyx Odds review found with that brand. And being dead different from other social betting powerhouses I’ve put through their paces recently, too.

While Prophet X’s market coverage is about as well balanced as the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2023 roster, too – built to compete from every angle.

Breaking down Prophet X’s social betting offerings

Prophet X new player sign up offer

Two ways to play at Prophet X

Straight off the bat, my Prophet X review was blown away by the breadth and diversity of different markets Prophet X brings to their peer to peer (P2P) social betting table.

There’s NBA, NFL, NHL, UFC, college football and more. Along with solid coverage of European soccer and tennis tournaments, too – although admittedly with a heavier lean toward all the homegrown US stuff.

As I found in the Pickem Casino review I put out recently, Prophet X’s virtual currency system is made up of two different tiers, designed to suit different types of social bettors. Here’s the lay of the land:

Virtual currencyWhat is it?What can you use it for?Notable T&Cs.
Prophet Points (PP)An entertainment only virtual currency.Just for fun “Yes” and “No” sports picks only.PP can be collected via winning PP predictions, claiming free PP bonuses or purchasing strictly optional PP bundles.
Prophet Cash (PC)A sweepstakes style virtual currency.“Yes” and “No” sports picks that yield potentially prize redeemable PC winnings.PC can only be redeemed for real world prizes if they’ve been played through at least once. While a 1-10 minimum PC redemption requirement applies depending on your state – and your account must be verified before you can submit a redemption request.

PC can be collected via winning PC predictions and claiming free PC bonuses only – i.e., they can’t be purchased outright.

So, please make a point of studying all these rules before you get stuck in, yeah?

Standout social sportsbook features to take note of

My Prophet X review was wowed by the wonderfully well varied betting options up for grabs on the brand’s app and website.

To its very core, this is clearly a social betting brand targeted squarely at experienced bettors who appreciate having plenty of options – with all the following bet types, and more, offered to punters in participating US states:

      • Classic match winners.
      • Point spreads and handicaps.
      • Over/unders and totals.
      • Player, team and stat based props.
      • Futures and in play markets.
      • Custom lines, P2P style.

While once you’ve registered with Prophet X, I found you’ll be able to tap into all these exciting, seasoned bettor-friendly features, too:

      • Setting your own predictions – provided they fall into the “Yes” versus “No” format, of course.
      • Unimaginably diverse player props options – with the world being pretty much your oyster here.
      • Fluctuating max win potential – thanks to the ever-shifting, peer to peer nature of the numbers.
      • A dedicated Discord channel – which acts as a hub for connecting you with other Prophet X users, sharing upcoming “Yes” and “No” odds, and more.

Meanwhile, notable omissions include parlays and teasers, which Prophet X claims are “still in Beta” on their site. Although both have recently been rolled out on the brand’s iOS and Android apps – so there’s an easy way around this niggle if you’re mobile-savvy.

What’s more, I found that at the time of writing, Prophet X’s reputation is solid as a rock, too. As I’ll explore more in the next section…

Prophet X is as legit as they come – and here’s why

So, creative P2P betting is king at this wildly unconventional social sportsbook, which is great if, like the Red Sox taking on the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS, a bold new approach is what you’re after.

But is the brand as trusted and dependable as Terry Francona in his heyday? Well, yes, I found that Prophet X is currently available in more than 40 US states – which is a lot more than your average social betting brand.

Right now, the only parts of the US where you won’t be able to sink your teeth into the site’s killer P2P social betting opportunities from are Arizona, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee and Washington. And course, I’ll update you guys ASAP if ever anywhere else gets added to the blacklist.

At the time of writing, my Prophet X review found that the brand, which has been going since 2024, has built up a ton of glowing online reviews – with a 4.8-star average rating on Apple’s App Store, and a 4.7 star mark up on Google Play. So, it shapes up real nice reputation wise as well.

The brand’s official website is SSL secure, too, although to be fair, while “Yes” and “No” predictions can be created and challenged both on Prophet X’s site and their app, the latter seems to be more popular among most users.

A quick Prophet X review from a usability angle

Prophet X‘s website is a well organized hub of “how to” guides, FAQs and state-level eligibility rules. And all these make it a great place to hang out if this is your first social betting rodeo, or you need a crash course in how Prophet X’s P2P stuff works that extends beyond my own explanation from earlier.

But the real magic happens once you’ve actually created your account – I found you’ll be greeted by easy to read social betting lines, logical one tap links to individual markets, and a handy “Help?” icon that hovers around in the bottom right hand corner of your screen at all times, just in case you need it.

My Prophet X review found the user experience to be totally ace here, then. It’s refreshing to see that, despite being geared more toward experienced bettors in terms of the social betting options, stats and special features available, the site’s still beginner friendly at a nuts and bolts level – and dead easy to find your way around.

If I’m being really, really picky, the rotating bonus banners on the main dash are a bit distracting. And the dark mode inspired theme did leave me squinting at the pale green text from time to time. But maybe that’s just my many years in the industry catching up with my eyesight, eh?

Prophet X’s app – all the same stuff in a smaller, neater package

How does Prophet X’s app compare against the above? Well, if I’m being completely honest, it’s the bee’s knees, basically.

The brand’s app – which my Prophet X review found is available on the App Store and Google Play, with ratings worth shouting about on both, is a dream to use. Why? Well, that’d be because it’s basically a scaled down version of the standard site, with nicely resized buttons and icons, and a few less banner ads.

All this means it's squeaky clean, easy to use and doesn’t skimp on features. In fact, in some cases the app actually offers more than the website – with parlays and teasers (which remain “in Beta testing” on the site) having been rolled out on an app only basis in 2025, for example.

Pretty nifty, huh? But did I encounter any app based bonuses?

      Prophet X refer-a-friend promo

My Prophet X review’s take on the brand’s bonuses

Bonuses are yet another area where Prophet X likes to do things differently than its competitors. After all, this is the Pat McAfee of social sportsbooks we’re talking about here, remember?

How far outside the box does Prophet X go? Well, instead of offering a free to claim welcome package like the one I uncovered in my recent Sidepot review, or the kind you’ll find at most other social sportsbooks utilizing the classic “no purchase necessary” model, Prophet X offers an optional first purchase bonus only. Although as you’ll soon see, there are other free to claim bonuses you can dabble with as an existing user later down the line.

Currently, my Prophet X review found the following sign up promo advertised in my state:

      • A 20% Prophet Cash (PC) bonus up to a max. of 100 PC alongside your first optional Prophet Points (PP) bundle purchase.

Naturally, the requirement to opt into a PP purchase to qualify for this one won’t suit everybody. But the fact no Prophet X promo code is currently needed to activate the offer is definitely a huge draw – while you can read more about the bonus’ other ins and outs in my latest bonus review.

It's worth noting that depending on which eligible state you’re signing up from, you may very well get offered a completely different bonus altogether, with talk of a 1.5% matched Prophet Cash back up to 200 PC bonus sometimes being advertised elsewhere.

The good news? No matter where you’re based, Prophet X’s sign up offer ain’t the only promo for the taking. Far from it, actually. So, allow me to run through some alternatives that are as popular as Shohei Ohtani whenever the Dodgers are winning – assuming you’re a Dodgers fan, that is…

Other promos to keep your eyes peeled for

You don’t have to look at all far to find other promotions knocking about at Prophet X – remember that annoying bonus banner I told you about? Glancing at that’s gonna suffice.

There’s no VIP or loyalty program currently for the taking. But other notable promotions my Prophet X review ran into at the time of writing, included:

      Existing user bonusHow it works
“Product Survey Giveaway” promoThis promo was offering anybody who enters a Prophet X product survey by the deadline day a chance to win a 1,000 PC bonus with no purchase requirement. Pretty neat, huh?
Refer a friend bonusNext up, I found it’s possible to grab up to 250 free PC by referring friends to the site. However, your buddies will need to hit some pretty high-flying first time PP purchase targets before you’ll qualify for this one.

I was a bit miffed to see no Prophet X login bonus up for grabs on the daily over here, but I did find deep in the site’s “Terms of Use” that auto top-ups are offered whenever your PP balance hits zero – which comes close enough in my book.

Meanwhile, in addition to the exciting offers I explored above, seasonal promotions are rotated almost as often as the New York Mets shuffle their lineup. And of course, optional PP purchase promos are always available for the taking, too.

PP purchases and PC redemptions methods explained

In a rare and quite frankly shocking turn of events, my Prophet X review found that the brand is actually very similar to other social sportsbooks when it comes to its PP purchase options.

As an entertainment only virtual currency, PP can be bought starting from $10 on a strictly optional basis. While many such bundles will throw in free PC – which aren’t purchasable on their own – as a complimentary bonus.

For example, let’s say you buy 10,000 just for fun PP for $10. When I did this recently, I got a 10 PC bonus as an added extra, which I thought was pretty darn competitive. And I got my Prophet Points package processed instantly when my payment went through, too.

Payment options wise, you can currently use VISA, MasterCard, Trustly and Aeropay to buy PP bundles in most US states. But when it comes to redeeming your qualifying PC winnings for real world prizes, things get a bit more complicated.

As I explained earlier, PC winnings are subject to a 1x playthrough requirement before you can redeem them for prizes. While my Prophet X review found that a minimum PC prize redemption requirement, which can range anywhere from 1 to 10 PC depending on your state, also applies.

Get all that sorted, and you can redeem your PC winnings for prizes only via online banking. Most of the time, redemptions take between 24 hours and five business days to be finalized.

Payment Method Minimum Deposit Maximum Withdrawal Processing Time
      Visa - N/A N/A
      Mastercard - N/A N/A
      Bank Transfer - N/A N/A
      Prepaid Card - N/A N/A

Customer support options – my Prophet X review’s findings

At the time I wrote today’s Prophet X review, the brand’s Help Center was on top form. Like Mookie Betts in his prime, the site’s FAQs covered all bases, from Prophet X’s prediction rules to how to make PP purchases. Although the Help Center’s search engine was a little bit hit and miss at times. So, make sure any queries you punch in are spelled correctly, yeah?

Other support options I found on the site, included:

      • An on-site contact form – which you can bring up by hitting the “Help?” icon at any time. The online form lets you add attachments, and I found the staff usually responds pretty quickly, too.
      • Email support – which I tested out twice, receiving replies within less than an hour both times.

My Prophet X review didn’t encounter any live chat options, unfortunately. But I did find that the site’s contact forms and emails are monitored from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm EST daily, while social media DM is always an option if you have X (previously known as Twitter), where Prophet X seems to be pretty active these days.

      Live chat: Available
      Phone: 866-686-0377
      Help Center: https://www.getprophetx.co/

My Prophet X review conclusion – an extraordinary spot for social betting

Like Aaron Judge out on the field, Prophet X ain’t your average social betting site – it knocks it out of the park with its innovative P2P betting options, excellent market coverage and easy to use website and apps.

Sure, the site has a few minor shortcomings when it comes to things like the lack of a free to claim welcome bonus or any on-site live chat, but these niggles pale in comparison to all that Prophet X has to offer to both new and experienced social bettors.

      Prophet X review FAQs

Is Prophet X any good for beginners?

It’s fantastic. The brand’s homepage serves up all sorts of how-to guides, while its apps are dead easy to use and backed up by a ton of FAQs if ever you get lost.

What fun social features does Prophet X offer?

In addition to the ability to create your own “Yes” and “No” predictions, put them out to other users, and challenge fellow sports fans over theirs, you’ll find a hip and happening Discord channel where you can interact with like-minded sports fans in real time.

Does Prophet X have a VIP program?

Nope, my Prophet X review didn’t find one at the time of writing, unfortunately. But product survey giveaways, refer a friend bonuses and other special offers are currently up for grabs as solid alternatives.
