Quick verdict: How legit is PrizePicks?
Playing daily fantasy sports is fun, and every site offers something different. Take PrizePicks, for example, where you can play for real money and for free. In this PrizePicks review, I unpack their daily fantasy sports offerings.
Let’s cut to it - PrizePicks delivers one of the better DFS setups I’ve tested, and I would recommend the brand to my fellow fantasy sports fanatics. The brand caters to all types of fantasy players, and the unique Demons and Goblins features transform the lineups and enhance the gameplay. Keep reading to get the lowdown on PrizePicks!
PrizePIcks starts out strong with its Bet and Get welcome bonus, and keeps it going with some great promotions available throughout the week. The innovative Demons and Goblins boosts are a particular highlight, along with the option to choose Flex Play or Power Play for selections.
I also appreciate the chance to make real-money Pick’em selections, or opt for free play, with active streaks that could lead to boosts and bonuses - and possibly even a jackpot prize! Convenient payment methods and a responsive and efficient customer support service ensure that PrizePicks deserves a place on every DFS fan’s radar.
Is PrizePicks a legit DFS site?
When I researched my Sleeper review, I shared that you should only use licensed and regulated daily fantasy sports (DFS) brands. While researching this PrizePicks review, I found that the brand is available in most US states, and as a licensed and regulated DFS site, you won’t need to worry about anything sketchy here. I will go into more detail later on about the different gameplay modes, but just remember that there are two main game modes: real money and free play.
Depending on where you reside, you can sign up at PrizePicks (you must be above 18 or 21), and you could have access to either game mode or just one. I have shared the availability of both PrizePicks game modes below:
- Real money (Pick’em) - The PrizePicks real money contests are available in 36 US states: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, Kansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, New Hampshire, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oregon, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Alabama, Colorado, Virginia, Arizona, Massachusetts and District of Columbia.
- Free Play (Streak) - The PrizePicks free play contests are available in 10 US states: Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Iowa and Louisiana.
As covered in many PrizePicks reviews, the brand has prioritized player safety, and there are many advanced safety measures to safeguard all players. These measures include password-secured accounts, an encrypted banking platform, KYC verification checks and many responsible gambling tools, such as deposit limits and self-exclusion.

While there are no exclusive PrizePicks promo codes, you can ask the support team for available promo codes. If available, you will be provided with a promo code for specific promos. Did you know that all new players are welcomed with a Bet and Get sign up bonus? After signing up, you can make your first $5 DFS lineup on any contest (you must use the Power Play option), and once your entry has been accepted, you will receive your $50 bonus within 24 hours.
Below is a list of the main bonus terms of the PrizePicks welcome offer:
- The welcome bonus is only available to new players who have signed up for the first time from an available US state.
- Your qualifying entry must be a minimum of $5.
- After selecting your lineup, you must choose the Power Play option.
- Your $50 bonus will be credited within 24 hours.

I’ve played DFS for years and always enjoy using welcome bonuses. If you need help using your PrizePicks welcome offer, head on over to my PrizePicks bonus review, as I have shared a comprehensive guide of the bonus experience, including how to claim and play through your $50 bonuses.

Several promotions for existing DFS players
Unlike the DraftKings rewards program I unpacked in my DraftKings Fantasy review, there is no exclusive rewards program at PrizePicks. While this is disappointing, I was pleased that there are several promos for existing players with lots of perks and innovations.
- Demons and Goblins - These are unique boosters available when making your lineups, and you can use several boosters in one lineup. Demons are boosted picks, think along the lines of higher alternative lines at sportsbooks. Goblins are safer picks that have lower odds, which are used to give you a better chance of a winning selection for your entry. I’ll break these down further below.
- Taco Tuesday - Players can vote for specific squares (selections) to get discounted picks. The winning selections will be discounted every Tuesday, and the line will be lower than the market equivalent. For example, Keenan Allen receiving yards is 45.5, but with the Taco Tuesday promo, his line may be discounted to 40.5.
- Flex Friday - Every Friday, PrizePicks will boost Flex Play entries, with either bigger payouts or a cashback option if your Flex Play entry loses.
- Referral bonus - Under the promos tab, you will find your unique referral link. Share that link with your friends, and when they sign up using your link and make their first deposit, you will receive a referral bonus. The referral bonus is awarded as bonus funds and must be played at least once.
No gameplay on the PrizePicks website
You should be aware that there is no gameplay while using the desktop site. There is a desktop site, but it is only for informational purposes. With the desktop site, you can get the latest information from the brand, check the availability of the brand for each US state and also get the lowdown of the current bonuses and promos.
I enjoyed using the PrizePicks website, and even though there is no gameplay available, the site is very user-friendly. I navigated the different sections, and the banners make it easy to find what you are looking for. All pages load quickly, and the availability map is a nice touch, making it easy to know if you are from an available state or not.
Two quality PrizePicks DFS apps
As I mentioned, since there is no PrizePicks desktop gameplay, all gameplay is available on your mobile device. Similar to the mobile experience I shared with my FanDuel Fantasy review, you can play on the go with the PrizePicks apps and the mobile-optimized website.
There are two dedicated PrizePicks mobile apps: an Android app and an iOS app. These apps are free to download and available from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Both apps have the same features, and you can build your lineups, use the boosters, claim bonuses and even contact the support team.
You can also play on the go with the mobile-optimized website. The mobile site is compatible with most devices, including Android and iOS. Like the mobile apps, when using the mobile website, you can enter contests, trigger bonuses, find your referral links and make deposits and withdrawals.

24/7 support for all PrizePicks players
Playing at PrizePicks is easy, but if you do have any questions, then the first thing to do is use the FAQ page/Help Center. The FAQ page covers several topics, and you should find your queries answered. If you still need help, then the best option is the live chat. The live chat platform is available 24/7, and there are always many live agents online. From my experience, you should connect to a live agent within a few minutes, and responses range between a few seconds and a few minutes. Support was fast and helpful every time I used it.
PrizePicks is also available via email, and you can email the team your detailed queries. The average email response is a few hours, but an agent will always make contact. Another option for contacting the support team is social media, and the brand is active on platforms like X. Follow the brand on X, drop them a DM or a reply to a post and wait for a response. While using X, also keep an eye out for any social media giveaways and promos.
Diverse payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard and PayPal
PrizePicks has an encrypted banking platform, ensuring that all deposits and withdrawals are safe and secure. There are no deposit fees, and the available deposit methods include Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Apple Pay and Bank Transfer. As soon as your deposit is processed, your funds should be reflected in your PrizePicks account.
You can only make withdrawals once you have submitted your KYC documents for player account verification. You can request a withdrawal to your bank account or PayPal account, and the withdrawal times range between 24 and 72 hours. Please note that there are no withdrawal fees, but in some states, you can only make one withdrawal every 24 hours, so check the terms and conditions before making a withdrawal at PrizePicks.
Everything you should know about the PrizePicks DFS experience
PrizePicks is available in a wide range of states

I enjoyed the DFS experience at PrizePicks, and even though there are no prize pools or community forums, there are still unique gameplay features. As I already shared in my PrizePicks review, there are two game modes: real money (Pick’em) and free play (streak). With free play, you must make one free daily lineup, and if you can keep an active streak going, you can win several rewards, including bonuses, boosts and jackpot prizes.
Real money DFS contests are available in 36 US states, and the gameplay follows a set structure. You can build your lineups between 2-6 selections on several sports and leagues, including the NFL, NBA, PGA, UFC, MLB and EPL.
Explaining the PrizePicks booster features
There are two unique PrizePicks boosters for your selections, besides the standard less or more picks, and these are referred to as Demons and Goblins.
Demons are bold red icons and provide boosted selections, similar to how higher alternative lines work. You can add multiple Demons selections in your lineups, to get bigger PrizePicks multipliers of up to 2,000x. Goblins are bold green icons and are safer selections, similar to lower alternative lines. Like Demons, you can add multiple Goblins to give you safer selections for your lineups. You are also allowed to include both Demons and Goblins in the same lineup.
Once you have picked your selections before submitting your lineups, you must choose between two lineup options: Flex Play and Power Play. Flex Play is a form of security, and you will still get a reduced payout if one or two of your selections are wrong (for a standard six-selection lineup, for 6/6 correct selections the payout is 25x, for 5/6 correct selections the payout is 2x and for 4/6 correct selections the payout is 0.4x). Power Play lineups have bigger multipliers (for a standard six-selection lineup, the payout is 37.5x), and all selections must be correct to get the payout.
Finally, there is Group Play. Once you submit your DFS entry, your entries are grouped with those of other players, and you can win additional prizes. There are three groupings, and for two and three selection lineups, you are grouped with 50 members, for three and four selection lineups, you are grouped with 100 members and for five and six selection lineups, you are grouped with 500 members. You don’t pay extra to enter Group Play, and players with the most correct picks will win a Group Play reward.
Verdict - Flex Play and Power Play your DFS lineups at PrizePicks
That sums it up. PrizePicks has a lot going for it if you’re into quick-pick DFS formats. Like most DFS sites, there are minor issues, such as no VIP rewards, but this is not a big issue, as there are regular promos for existing players, which make up for the lack of rewards programs. One of the standout features was the Flex Play and Power Play options for every lineup, which makes every DFS entry more exciting and offers bigger rewards.
Overall, I gave PrizePicks a rating of 8/10 and recommend the brand to any avid DFS fan. If the brand is available in your US state, click the banners on this page to sign up and get your $50 in bonuses once you enter your first $5 lineup.
