Quick Verdict: How legit is Boom Fantasy?

This Boom Fantasy review took a week of testing, where I deposited real money, ran some contests across all three main modes, cashed out, contacted support, and generally tried to find some cracks in the app.

There's a lot to like about Boom once you get the hang of it, and in this review, I'll take you through the game modes, banking and withdrawal setup, security, both mobile apps, support channels, and the full bonus and promo calendar. The app has more going on than just your average Pick'Em DFS site, that’s for sure.

Boom Fantasy sits at 8 out of 10 for me. The promo calendar and game variety are big draws for a DFS brand of Boom's size, the main reason why Boom places ahead of most smaller competitors I've put real money into this year. The caveat is state access, because availability varies on the mode you want to play, and the homepage doesn't make that obvious until you try entering a contest that isn't available where you live. Even with that, Boom's doing more with its site than most DFS apps in this tier.

      How the game modes work

Play classic Pick'Em games at Boom Fantasy

Discover the Boom Fantasy Pick & Spin mode

Three modes share the lobby on Boom, and they play so differently from each other that I kept forgetting I hadn't switched apps. Classic Pick'Em, Pick & Spin and Squad Ride are the lineup.

      Classic Pick'Em

The one most DFS players already know. You pick 2 to 8 athletes, call each one over or under on a projected stat, submit and you're in. It takes about ten seconds once you've decided who you want.

      Pick & Spin

Here the wheel does half the work. Two over/under picks, then a spin that sets your multiplier with a ceiling of 500x, and the outcomes shift around depending on what your two legs look like. I expected it to feel gimmicky after a couple of runs, but instead I wound up firing lineup after lineup just to see where the wheel would stop. The combo variety alone kept me coming back for more in a way that straight Pick'Em contests never do. It ended up being the mode I spent the most time in.

      Squad Ride

Three athletes get bundled into one unit and you chase milestone payouts at 2x, 5x and 20x once the squad's combined score clears the target. Hitting a milestone changes the mode into something closer to co-op gaming than traditional DFS. You end up spending your evening rooting for all three players together rather than watching numbers average out one at a time.

Game mode How it works Picks Max payout
Classic Pick'Em Over/under on player stats with only ten seconds to build a lineup 2 to 8 Varies
Pick & Spin Two over/under picks and a wheel spin that sets your multiplier 2 Up to 500x
Squad Ride Three players grouped into a unit chasing milestone targets together 3 2x, 5x and 20x

What happened when I deposited and withdrew

The banking side of things is where Boom grabbed points from me. Most DFS apps wave you through with three lines of text on a help page, but Boom goes quite a bit deeper than that.

      Deposit options I saw

The cards covered for deposits are Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, with PayPal and Online Banking handling the non-card side. I deposited $50 with a Visa during my testing and the balance showed up before I'd tapped out of the deposit screen. Of every DFS app I've tested this year, this was the fastest deposit I've had.

The withdrawal process and the 1x playthrough

Payouts go through PayPal, Venmo, Online Banking or Debit Card. The catch is that as of late January 2026, your first deposit needs to be played through 1x before Boom will authorize a withdrawal, unless you contact support and ask them to process it manually. Boom also mentions that deposits may get refunded back to the original funding source as a security step before a different withdrawal method processes, which is a detail I don't see many DFS apps spell out.

      Security on Boom

Something Boom does better than most DFS apps of its size is putting the security and responsible gaming details in places you can find it. First deposit or first contest entry is when ID verification triggers, whichever comes first for you. Boom runs an automated check in the background and if that comes back clean, you won't have any issues.

But if it fails, you get prompted to upload a photo ID, which is the same KYC process you'd see on any DFS site handling real money. Google Play's data disclosure backs up that encryption is in place for data in transit and says deletion requests are supported on the app. That’s about as secure and legit as you can get.

The app and Boom's mobile-first approach

Boom Fantasy is clearly an app-first product, and the numbers support that.

      Store ratings and update history

On the App Store side, Boom sits at 4.6 stars with roughly 13,000 reviews and Google Play says 50,000+ downloads with its last update. I went through the version history and new builds have been coming steadily the whole way through April. That says a lot because any app can sit at a 4.6 rating for years after the team stops caring about it.

How it felt to use on iOS and Android

I tested on both and the contests ran at the same speed on each. I didn’t experience any crashes or weird loading delays, and the mode selection screen feels more like a game menu than a DFS dashboard. Boom wants the app to feel playful and they've largely pulled that off.

      Testing customer support

I fired off a support question on purpose, even though I didn't have a real issue, just to see how the support looked. Boom runs live chat inside the app, email through support@boomfantasy.com, and there's also a phone number listed on Google Play, so you have three channels to work with. I tried the email first with a question about the 1x playthrough rule and got a proper written answer back a few hours later. I then pinged the in-app chat a day or two after about Pick & Spin payout mechanics and got another quick human response.

      Bonuses and the promo calendar

Promos are the part of Boom that stood out to me most during testing, and half the reason I kept the app installed once my first week wrapped up.

      How the welcome offer works

New players get handed a “risk-free token” up to $100 in value, no Boom Fantasy promo code needed. You can put that on your first qualifying contest and if it loses, Boom refunds the stake back as bonus funds on your account, not cash you can withdraw. You've then got 14 days to play those bonus funds through on later contests before they expire. It's a welcome offer that rewards anyone planning to come back and play regularly, rather than just grab the welcome offer and leave.

      The daily promo rotation

There are also named promos that run every day of the week. 2XP Sundays, Mystery Boost Monday, Tuesday Doubles, Super Wheel Wednesdays, Thursday Drops, Risk-Free Fridays, and Super Boost Saturdays. Beyond the calendar, there are Rescue Refunds for certain injury-related losing picks, Profit Boosts, and flash deposit matches that pop up alongside the daily bonuses.

Level Rewards and the refer-a-friend deal

Pick & Spin's Level Rewards system deserves its own mention because wheel improvements become permanent as you progress through tiers, going up to a 1000x maximum and 2.3x minimum payout once you reach the top end. There's a refer-a-friend offer too that pays $25 in bonus funds when the person you refer deposits $20+ and plays through. Why Boom Fantasy is your next pick

Boom does more than enough to grab a spot in your daily rotation. It features creative game modes, an app that's clearly maintained, support that responds, and a promo calendar deeper than most DFS apps, twice its size. Not every state gets access to every mode, though, and the bonus fund rules need reading before you put money in, but for a Pick'Em fantasy app in 2026, this is a strong choice. You won’t regret your choices when you try out Boom Fantasy and make a whole lot of strides in your daily picks.
