Sports is the only show in town on Sleeper Markets. This platform lets you trade Yes/No event contracts on team outcomes, and during my Sleeper Markets review, I saw football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and others.
You have to install the Sleeper mobile app to lay your hands on the prediction market options. They’re not available via the web platform. That was no trouble for me since the app runs fast on both iOS and Android. The one area where I’d love to see the brand up its game is in promotions.
What is Sleeper Markets? The ins and outs
If you already know Sleeper, the site’s daily fantasy sports (DFS) products will come to mind first. Well, that’s the Player Picks angle. In other words, you predict the performance of individual players.
For prediction markets, it’s Team Picks. That means you predict results that have to do with the teams and not players. Once I understood this difference, it was easy for me to get why Sleeper only has sports event contracts.
Some other brands tread the same path anyway. During my PredictIt prediction markets review, for example, it was mainly political events on display. No sports.
How trading works
Buy Yes contracts if you think an event will happen and no if you think it won’t. That pretty much sums up trading on Sleeper Markets. Compared to other sites I’ve used, it’s business as usual.
What you should know is that Sleeper doesn’t set the contract prices. They range from $0.01 to $0.99 and are based on supply and demand as people trade. Each contract will pay $1 if your prediction is correct and $0 otherwise.
I don’t always sit around waiting for the sports game to round up. Many times, I sell my contracts early, depending on whether the price rises or falls.
The Big 4 US sports are covered
Saying Sleeper Markets has the Big 4 US sports is not a fluke. The platform lists events from the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL. It doesn’t end there. I also spotted soccer, golf, tennis, MMA, and a few others.
Since it’s Team Picks, the event options are usually game winner, totals (over/under), and spreads. No player props are on the table — those are Player Picks on the DFS side.
Here’s the last winning trade I made before penning down this Sleeper Markets review:
| Event | Rays vs Yankees in the MLB |
|---|---|
| Outcome | Rays to win |
| Yes contract | $0.57 |
| No contract | $0.45 |
I put $200 behind the Rays winning, which added up to around 351 contracts at $0.57 each. After the team beat their opponents 5-3, my payout was $351. So, I got a $151 profit from that trade.
You can trade on Sleeper Markets before games start and live, while they’re ongoing. With the latter, my eyes are always fixed on the markets because contract prices can be a roller coaster.
Combos
Sleeper Markets left me wanting when I wanted to build combos. On some other websites, you can combine more than one event contract and trade them as a single position. That could fetch a higher payout if all the predictions are correct.
The option on the Sleeper app is quite different. I could only build combos by mixing one Team Pick and two or more Player Picks. So, if you’re in for it, you have no choice but to enter the DFS territory. You can’t bundle more than one Team Pick.
Trading fees
Just $0.01 per contract is what Sleeper Markets collects as a fee when buying or selling. It won me over because it’s on the low side.
However, if I’ve not mentioned it yet, Sleeper joined forces with Kalshi for its event contracts. As the provider, Kalshi charges an extra $0.01 commission, taking the total fee per contract to $0.02. Still low if you ask me.

Sleeper Markets’ intuitive trading dashboard
Dark-themed app that’s easy to browse
Reach for your smartphone or tablet if you want to trade in Sleeper Prediction markets. I went over the website — which has a modern dark theme and animated designs — and saw only Player Picks. So I installed the mobile app.
Sleeper still goes all-in on the dark mode look on its app. The menu at the bottom gives fast access to the home page, your profile, scores, and picks. What stood out for me is that the interface shows the contract probability and payout multiplier, rather than just the USD price. Plus, the Feed and Stats tabs gave me extra info on games when sizing up markets.
I would call the absence of PC trading a downside, even though I’m perfectly fine with the app. That’s because many alternative brands support mobile and desktop.

Sleeper Markets’ platform and service reviews
Sleeper Markets is legit
I just stated that Kalshi is behind the event contracts on Sleeper Markets. Kalshi is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in the US. Sleeper Markets itself is also registered with the CFTC and the National Futures Association (NFA). That’s why I rate the prediction market brand as legit.
Sleeper Markets plays by the rules by asking all traders to verify their ID before doing anything. You need to be 18+ to use the app. The process was not a hassle, but it took some time because I had to enter my SSN and fill out personal financial information.
Allowed states
The prediction markets Sleeper rolls out are only available in select locations in the US. From what I saw, the brand doesn’t have a list that’s written in stone. That’s why I also can’t mention exact locations here. Just check whether your state is allowed when you try to register.
Customer service
Live chat is the fastest route for help on the Sleeper Markets app because I usually get in touch with an agent in under three minutes. A virtual assistant (Sleeper Bot) replies first, though. Email makes more sense if you’re dealing with technical issues. However, replies can take a few hours.
Bonuses aren’t on the menu yet
My main issue with Sleeper is that the site has no standard prediction market promo. The welcome offer in the app is a match bonus of up to $100. Finding out that it was only for Player Picks (DFS) and not Team Picks left me bummed out.
Anyway, I’m hoping to see things change in the future. I remember jumping into a leaderboard contest in my ROLR review for a share of a $25 million grand prize. Sleeper launches similar competitions from time to time, although not as large.
All payment methods are bank-related
You can fund your Sleeper Markets account using a debit card, bank transfer, or Apple Pay (debit card). For prediction markets, PayPal, credit cards, and Venmo are not available. The way I see it, the payment methods supported come down to CFTC rules.
I sometimes deposit the $10 minimum, but I’ve not crossed the $1,500 maximum per day since I started using the app. Deposits can take 3 to 7 days to clear. However, you won’t be twiddling your thumbs waiting to trade. Sleeper Markets will make the funds available instantly.
Withdrawals
When it’s time to cash out, the limit is $10 to $1,000 per transaction. Meanwhile, the daily withdrawal limit is $5,000. After putting the payout process through its paces, I recorded an average turnaround time of 2 to 5 business days.
Sleeper Markets is solid for sports predictions
Don’t join Sleeper Markets if you want to trade on culture, politics, economics, crypto, or weather prediction markets. Those categories are out of the picture. If your focus is on sports event contracts, then you can count on Sleeper.
I give the platform a thumbs up for the range of sports it covers and the smooth mobile apps with feeds and stats. Not to mention, trading fees are minimal. Sleeper Markets can go toe-to-toe with popular sports prediction trading sites in the US if it starts offering promos. That’s the most important missing piece as far as I’m concerned.
All the same, I can still recommend trading on the Sleeper Markets app even if bonuses are not dropping yet. To get started, click the links on this page and head over to the platform.
