Then, add simple browsing, responsive support, and smooth payments, which I’ll cover in more depth throughout this review.
All clear: PredictIt passes the legitimacy test
PredictIt being regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) was the first major green light. Yes, that does in fact mean this prediction market is available in 0 US states. This was a huge sigh of relief for me. I’m always traveling around the country for work, so being able to take PredictIt with me felt massive.
But I wasn’t hanging my hat on regulatory oversight alone. With a little more snooping, I found active social media accounts on X, Instagram, and Facebook, with plenty of positive engagement. And of course, the less exciting but hugely important security features like Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption work like clockwork here.
The ins and outs of PredictIt payments
Getting my money in and out of PredictIt was stress-free for the most part. But I’ve got some interesting facts to share with you about the experience:
Loading up my PredictIt wallet
Making a deposit was simple enough during my review of PredictIt prediction markets, with Visa, Mastercard, and ACH all on the menu. Although I must admit, the fee setup was a little odd. My first Visa deposit was fee-free up to $1,000, which was nice. After that, I was kinda forced into moving to ACH to keep things fee-free. If I’d have stuck with Visa (or Mastercard), I’d have been hit hard with a 3% fee each time. Not exactly a crowd pleaser for credit card users.
Getting my money back out
Withdrawals were simple, with ACH or check being the only option. For me though, there was only one true contender: ACH. I didn’t fancy waiting 2 weeks for a paper check to arrive in the post. Thankfully, the same week I joined PredictIt, the platform announced it was scrapping the old 5% ACH withdrawal fee, bringing it down to zero. More profits in my pocket? Yes, please.
My payouts with ACH typically landed in 2–5 business days; that’s about average. Just remember, there’s still a 10% fee on the profits you make before you withdraw. So while the ACH fee might be long gone, PredictIt hasn’t abandoned every fee.
I claimed a 50% cashback bonus, and you can too
Listen closely, because I’ve got the deal of a century for you, and it’s exclusive to WagerTalk. If you register using my link in the banner above, you can claim a 50% cashback bonus up to $500. If that doesn’t sweeten the deal of your first deposit, I’m not sure what will, to be honest.
And let's face it, countless prediction markets out there right now don’t offer any welcome bonus at all. One word of advice, though: come prepared to verify your email, telephone, and identity. It’s all part of the process when joining a CFTC-regulated platform like PredictIt.
Politics is the name of the game at PredictIt
PredictIt focuses exclusively on political prediction markets. So don’t expect to see the same amount of variety as the Prophet X Prediction markets review. Thankfully, politics is right up my street anyway, especially with the midterms approaching.
Presidential markets
When writing my PredictIt review, President Trump was well into his second term. This meant there was no shortage of political drama to keep fresh new markets flooding into the platform. Here are a few example events I jumped on:
- Will Trump declare a national emergency by year-end?
- How many vetoes will Trump issue in 2026?
- Will Trump leave office early?
These were fairly long-term plays, but I tried to enter the market when I thought it looked underpriced. This gave me a little more wiggle room to exit the position early if the price swung in my favor.
New to prediction markets? Here’s the quick version. Each outcome costs between $0.01 and $0.99, with cheaper contracts suggesting a lower implied probability and expensive ones suggesting a higher probability. You can sell your contracts if the price moves either way or holds them until settlement for a shot at a $1 payout for each correct prediction.
Election races
As I said, the midterms were the hot topic when I was researching for this review of the PredictIt prediction markets platform. This meant that the election markets were popping off as the Democratic and Republican parties battled for control of the Senate. I didn’t have to wait long for these events to conclude either, which made for a much more active trading experience than the presidential markets.
Politics on the world stage
As someone who actively follows domestic politics, it can become a bit depressing at times. That’s why I like to switch things up with international prediction markets. I had my say on who would be the next president of Brazil and France, as well as whether the Pope would visit Cuba by 2026.

Finding your market without the headache
If you go to my ADI PredictStreet prediction markets review, you’ll find a catalog of events that can be a real headache to manage on the best of days. Since PredictIt dials in on just political markets, it’s much more manageable. There were 202 active markets the last time I visited.
Each market is laid out in a grid format with the event and its two most popular outcomes clearly visible alongside their trading prices. I liked how I could filter the markets shown in the grid by category, including Elections, President, Congress, State/Local, and World. I could then sort by metrics such as trading volume, price changes, new arrivals, and expiring.
Calling in the PredictIt support squad
I encountered my first issue when I switched from Visa deposits to ACH during this PredictIt review. My payment failed to clear. This meant that I was frantically searching for the “Contact Us” button, only to discover that email was the only support option. Sorry to say, but there’s no live chat here.
That was a little annoying, if I’m being honest. But there was a silver lining. The team came back to me via email within 6 to 12 hours, beating the 24-hour industry average. And yes, the team was able to sort out my issue, so I was back to browsing the markets in next to no time.
My last take: Is PredictIt the real deal or not?
The way I see it is that PredictIt is one of the best prediction market platforms right now if you like trading political event contracts. Just about every topic gets covered, from elections to presidential decisions, state/local events, and international affairs. Those helpful filters, menus, and categories also make it easy to find your way around.
The payment setup has also seen some positive change recently with the removal of fees. Hooray for that! Plus, as a new trader, you can get your teeth into a 50% cashback bonus. Wanna test it out? Hit my link in the banner above.
