    MMA(24237) E. Barboza at (24238) D. Hooker8:00pm EST - Dec 15/2018
    THE PLAY: E. Barboza +101

In the co main event of UFC on FOX 31, the electrifying Edson Barboza (19-6) squares off against Dan Hooker, who's 4-0 since moving up a weight class.

Dan Hooker has been on a hot streak winning 4 in a row, defeating 2 aging vets in Jim Miller and Ross Pearson,  looking comfortable in his new division.
As for Edson Barboza, he's known for firing kicks at lighting speed, capable of landing it anywhere on opponents.
The big questions are, what did the 2 mauling losses by Khabib and Kevin Lee do to Edson? Also is Hooker prepared for the elite strikers in the division?
In my opinion, Hooker hasn't come close to facing anyone like Barboza. His last 4 winning fights were against slower strikers with less power and skillset. Add on that Hooker has had a significant reach advantage over those opponents as well. (Between 4 inches to 6 inches) Against Barboza, Hooker will have roughly the same stature physically. Furthermore, Barboza is a higher volume striker, active in the pocket seeking exchanges. Hooker has decent volume, but not to the out put of Edson. The key to beating Edson has been elite level grapplers, as in Khabib and Kevin Lee, whom are dominating with takedowns followed by ground and pound - Hooker isn't anywhere near that level. Edson's terrific use of level change kicks with spontaneous flying knee's will be to much for Hooker. If the fight goes the distance, Barboza also has the statistical advantage, out of his only 9 decision fights Edson is 7-2, meaning finding ways to out point his opponent. Hooker, out of his 6 decisions he's holding a 1-5 record.

Barboza has fought the elite over most of his career, losing some and winning some. In this situation, Hooker isn't elite, although very dangerous, I believe Edson will be to much for Hooker, out striking him throughout the fight on his was to victory!

    Edson Barboza (+100)

Kyle Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Monmouth University in 2002. Early in his college years, he frequently visited Atlantic City casinos, which were a short 45 minute drive away. The more he visited, the further knowledge he gained with a passion for seeking a gaming edge. From there, Kyle studied the game poker, which quickly became his main source of income. He’d play roughly 7 to 8 hours a day mixed with online and poker rooms.

Kyle Anthony casually bet on NFL games on offshore sites, although he truly had a desire for combat sports. He enjoyed boxing, but as the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) continued to grow, so did Kyle’s attention to the sport. As the sport emerged and became more mainstream, so did Kyle’s concentration on betting strategically. After following the UFC for more then a decade, he began renting VHS cassette tapes of every single UFC event. He re-watched every single UFC event and fight that’s ever aired to study fight outcomes, analytics and statistical data. Using that knowledge base, Kyle became solely dedicated to the UFC with a track record of nearly 70% winning percentage with no best bets on fighters greater then -190. His focus on underdogs and value plays earned him the nickname among friends as MrUFCVegas. Kyle Anthony considers Las Vegas his second home, as not only does he frequently visit, but was married at the Mandalay Bay 7 years ago to his wife Joy.

After such a successful track record and providing friends and family with correct picks, they urged him to seek a career in the sports betting industry. Kyle began to publicly display his picks on forums such as Reddit, and grew a following quickly. From there, he started a YouTube channel called: MrUFCvegas: Fight Club TV, which is a growing community of UFC handicappers. Using his broadcasting skills and knowledge of the combat sport, UFC fans have gravitated to his content.

Now, Kyle Anthony a.k.a. MrUFCvegas has teamed up with Wagertalk to share his knowledge on the sport.
