(955) New York Mets at (956) Atlanta Braves
The Braves are getting hot at the right time after coming away with a huge series opening victory over New York yesterday. Now just a half game out of the wild card race, Atlanta has won 5 of 6 and can take that next step to securing a playoff berth win a win tonight. They have the right man on the hill to get them started as Chris Sale has been brilliant for the ATL this season. Sale hasn’t allowed more than 2 earned in his past 18 starts and has given up a total of 3 runs over his past 4. His metrics are as good as anyone in baseball from top to bottom. Sale ranks in the 100th percentile in pitching run value and has a wOBA of .260 to name a few. The offense is also clicking for the Braves, scoring 5 runs or more in 6 of their past 7 games. David Peterson is faltering at the wrong time, yielding 5 runs in 2 of his past 3 outings. He also gave up 4 when the Braves faced him back in July. Despite all of the injuries they’ve had to endure this season, Atlanta is a playoff team and they’ll take the next step by getting out to a quick lead in this one. Take the Braves F5 RL.
