(921) Philadelphia Phillies at (922) Toronto Blue Jays
3% Rotation #921: MLB Wednesday 3% Philadelphia Phillies -123 @ Toronto Blue Jays @ 3:07 ET - The Blue Jays are starting Bowden Francis here and he is coming off an amazing August but was not so impressive prior to that. Also, in August he faced a bad Angels team twice and also faced the Cubs when Chicago was still in the midst of a hitting slump. Now he faces a Phillies team that is surging at the plate. Also, the Blue Jays bullpen has a 4.81 ERA which ranks among the worst in the majors. The Phillies send Christopher Sanchez to the plate. Though he has not been as effective of late, Sanchez will take advantage of facing a Toronto team that ranks 26th in the majors for slugging percentage against lefties. The Jays have struggled against southpaws this season. Also Sanchez did hold the Blue Jays to just one earned run in 7 innings when he faced them earlier this season. Sanchez certainly should have plenty of run support from a red hot Phillies lineup that got healthy at home and is starting to pick up momentum again. Overall, the Blue Jays have lost 5 of 7 games and, other than just one big win, were held to scoring an average of only 1.6 runs per game in the other 5 games PRIOR to yesterday's 10-9 loss to Philadelphia. The Phillies are 8-2 last 10 games and that included B2B road wins at the start of that in which the Phillies scored 11 runs in each game! Now yesterday they had 10 runs as they began this series on the road again and looking to build on all the recent momentum! Considering the potency of this Philly lineup (including 10 or more runs scored in 3 straight road games) as well as the Jays struggles against lefthanders, the Phillies offer solid value again here, this time as a small road favorite. 3% Philadelphia Phillies -123
