4% Rotation #909: MLB Wednesday 4% OVER 7.5 in San Francisco Giants vs Arizona Diamondbacks @ 9:45 ET - We get a low total here because Zac Gallen is on the mound for the Diamondbacks and certainly Oracle Park in San Francisco is not known as a hitters park. However, there are a number of key factors here not the least of which is that Diamondbacks games continue to fly over the total! Before we get into that lets talk about Gallen. He has not been as dominant as usual and has actually allowed 4 or more earned runs in 3 of last 5 starts and 3 or more earned runs in 7 of 11 starts. Also, keep in mind, he has only averaged 5 innings per start over his last 11 starts. Arizona's bullpen ranks 23rd for relievers' ERA and the Giants bullpen ranks 20th in the majors. Both pens could be called upon early here because Hayden Birdsong gets the start for San Francisco and he has averaged only 3.2 innings per start in his last 5 starts! Also, Birdsong allowed 5 or more earned runs in 3 of those 5 starts including the only one that was here in San Francisco. Speaking of struggles at Oracle Park, Gallen did allow 5 earned runs in his only start here this season. SF has scored 4.6 runs per game in last 7 home games. The Diamondbacks have not only had 5 straight overs, ALL 5 of the games totaled 14 or more runs! Also, they have scored 7.4 runs per game during their current 7-game road winning streak! They are hot at the plate and playing with a lot of confidence on the road as well and this shapes up to be another high-scoring game!
