5% TAMPA BAY -115
Tampa Bay returned home from a long West Coast road trip after playing in Oakland, LA, and Seattle. Unsurprisingly, they lost the first game of the homestand. Now it's game two of the homestand, and we like to take the home team if they lost the first game. I also love the fact that Tampa was embarrassed in last night’s game, losing 13-5. The Padres send Randy Vasquez to the mound, where he has allowed 12 runs in 18 innings of work over his last four starts. That’s an ERA of 5.99. Tampa Bay will counter with Shane Baz, who is coming off an absolute gem in his last game, as he went 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball in a 1-0 victory. He has made eight starts for Tampa Bay, allowing three runs or less in seven of those eight starts. With a win tonight, Tampa gets back to .500. Tampa is only 4-6 over their last 10 games, but when you consider the three-city West Coast swing they were on, that really wasn’t bad. Tampa is undervalued in the market right now.
