Our selection is on the Texas Rangers

The Rangers need to have an unbelievable September or the World Champs will be watching the playoffs from the outside this year. Not likely but it can happen. That starts with beating the teams that they should beat. The upstart Oakland A’s are one of those clubs. Texas came home last night from a 6 game road trip and the A’s took them to the woodshed in an 9-2 Oakland victory. That was a situational winner for Oakland just as this is a great situational play for the Rangers tonight. We have two pitchers here that have HUGE swings in being at home or on the road.  Let’s start with the A’s starter Joey Estes. Now Joey can be any type and he has had his best month of the season in August. However, if you look a little deeper and Joey has been a train wreck on the road. He is sporting a 7.17 ERA with a WHIP of 1.55 in 10 appearances on the road. We will look for the Rangers to take advantage of Joey’s Jekyll and Hyde nature. As for the Rangers they send Cody Bradford to the hill and Cody has been much better at home this season. In fact, Cody has over a 2 run better ERA pitching at home. We believe that helps Cody in this matchup. The fact that the A’s are ranked 23 RD in hitting LH pitching just solidifies our selection. We will go with the desperate Champs to bounce back in a big way tonight and start another win streak.
