4% – Justin Steele to Record a Win (+110)

4% Justin Steele To Record a Win (2:20 ET): FINALLY this prop is available! Just to reiterate what I wrote in the Cubs’ writeup, this just feels like the time that Steele gets his first win of the season. Again, among all MLB pitchers that have started at least 10 games this season, he is the ONLY one yet to record a win. But he’s turned in five consecutive quality starts and seven straight starts allowing 3 ER or less.

During this stretch, there have been numerous times where it appeared Steele was going to be in line for a victory. He didn’t allow a single run over six innings at Tampa Bay on 6/13 and left with a 2-0 lead. The Cubs’ bullpen blew that. On 6/18 against the Giants, the team won 5-2, but it was 2-2 when Steele exited the game (he was one out away from being in line for a win). Then, again against the Giants (on 6/24), he left with a lead (4-2) only for the bullpen to blow it. Steele’s last time out, I made the Cubs a 5% play and they came through with a 5-3 win over the Brewers. But unfortunately Steele did NOT get the win.

I’ll trust Steele and then the Cubs’ bullpen here against the moribund Angels, who have lost four straight and were just swept in Oakland including shutout losses both Wednesday and Thursday. Flying East for an irregular early Friday start is not a great spot for the Halos while the Cubs have no travel in between series after beating the Phillies yesterday. Griffin Canning is the starter today for LA and he has not been good (basically all season) including a June where he lost his first four decisions and then gave up five runs his last time out. At long last, look for Steele to get the win on Friday. 4% Justin Steele To Record a Win (Play to -130)
