Analysis

2% Rotation #791: CFL Saturday 2% Edmonton Elks +4.5 at Toronto Argonauts @ 7 ET - I know the Elks are 0-2 this season but they have faced a Roughriders team that is now 2-0 on the season and a Montreal team that is now 3-0 on the season. Also, Edmonton only lost to Saskatchewan by virtue of a 4th quarter rally for the Riders and they only lost to the Alouettes by 3 points in a very tight affair. Of course Toronto is off the Eastern Finals loss last season and I know they were great at home last season but something interesting here about these Elks and these Argonauts. First off, 9 of the 11 wins that Edmonton has in recent seasons have come on the road. Now I am not saying they are going to get the SU win here - I am taking the points - but I am saying this Elks team has been more dangerous in terms of upsets on the road. Also, they are playing quite well this season and I like the fact their QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson is going against his former team. That Argonauts team, by the way, is without their top QB and I am not banking on his replacement Cameron Dukes to star every week like he did in the first game of this season. This Argos team lost a lot from the team that went to the East Finals last season and this Elks team is on the rise while the Argos have regressed. Yes Toronto got the win in week 1 but then the week 2 bye really did not help them as teams don't want early season byes right after the year starts (side note: CFL needs 10 teams instead of 9 to prevent this). I am grabbing the points with the road dog here although an outright upset would not surprise me either but we are starting to see some tighter CFL games mix in with the blowouts. In fact 4 of the last 6 CFL games have been decided by 4 or less points and I expect this one will too. 2% EDMONTON +4.5
