Analysis

3% Rotation #905: MLB Thursday 3% OVER 8.5 -118 in St Louis Cardinals vs San Francisco Giants @ 7:15 ET (game played at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, AL)  - This game being played in a historic ballpark and I believe it will play out well for an over. I know they moved the fences back some as part of the restoration of the park for this game but there is warm weather expected for this one and the ball will carry well. The Cardinals are expected to start Andre Pallante and he has struggled in 2 of his last 3 starts. Pallante struggled more in night games and road games both last season as well as so far this season. Even though the Cards are listed as the home team here, of course this is not a true home game for St Louis. Look for Pallante to again struggle here and the same holds true for Keaton Winn. The Giants right-hander is off a rare quality start but still allowed 3 earned runs in 6 innings. Winn has allowed 27 earned runs in 18.2 inning over his last 5 starts! As you can see, he has been getting pounded! More of the same on tap here! Winn is facing a Cardinals team that only scored 3 runs yesterday at Miami but had 10 hits. St Louis entered that game having scored 4.3 runs per game last 9 road games and 4.4 runs per game last 11 overall. Getting each team to 4 runs here would guarantee us of at least a 5-4 final. As for the Giants, they have scored an average of 6 runs per game in their last 7 games. The Cards bullpen ranks in the middle of the pack this season. The Giants bullpen ranks as below average in 23rd place out of 30 teams for relievers ERA so far this season. Take advantage of this low total in a unique setting that should prove hitter-friendly on a warm night in Alabama with the ball carrying well. Both teams should fare well at the plate here and lead to this one getting to at least the 9-run mark and likely double digits here! 3% OVER 8.5 -118 in St Louis
