The Vancouver Canucks are off to a RED HOT start to the 2023-2024 season, but they've now dropped two straight, so I expect a focused group tonight at home, despite the one-sided match-up that's expected to take place. The Canucks scored ten goals the last time they played the Sharks, and I'm sure San Jose didn't forget about that, but as much as they'll want to defend the Canucks much better this game, I simply don't think they can. I'm not saying they will allow ten goals again, but I do not believe the Sharks, who are 0-7 both ATS & SU on the road this season, can trade goals with the talented roster of the Canucks. The Canucks still rank #1 in the league in shooting %, which means they do not need a lot of shots to make their opponents pay; they have lethal goal scorers that are capable of scoring when given the opportunity. Taking a team from a -300 down to -110 for them to WIN the first period after losing two straight games is a great way to bet this game.
