Mountain West fans, if you don't know the name Great Osobor, it might be time to learn in. The Montana State transfer is making a huge impact in his first season in Logan, averaging 21.3 points per game with the Aggies. Both of these teams got sucked into playing faster games than they probably would have liked on Sunday, and we're expecting things to slow down quite a bit in this one. Akron played Florida International in the opener, and the Panthers were No. 17 in the country in shortest average time of possession last season. Utah State opened the tournament against Marshall, who played at the fastest pace in the country last season. Akron and Utah State don't mind running a little bit, but neither wants to get into a track meet like both of them played yesterday. Both offenses will be looking to work through the interior. Osobor has attempted 39 free throws over his last three games, and he will look to apply pressure to the Zips' defense. On the other side, fifth-year senior Enrique Freeman is very capable of doing the same for Akron in the post. Akron made ten three-pointers against FIU's questionable defense yesterday. That formula is unlikely to work tonight against the more-physical Aggies. Both offenses are certainly capable of operating at a very high level, but we don't think the pace will be there to push this total into the upper 140s.
