Marquette and UCLA square off in the Maui Invitational Monday with both entering undefeated. However, the path to get to 3-0 has been different for both teams. UCLA has beaten up on some of the lowest ranked teams in the nation as Mick Cronin had to put together a completely different group from a year ago. Marquette brought back 4 starters and 85% of their minutes played, and it showed as the Golden Eagles went on the road and came away with a big time win at Illinois. They’re a top 10 team in offensive efficiency and the defense isn’t far behind. Marquette shoots a high percentage from the field and they’ve done a good job taking care of the ball as well. The Bruins are terrible from behind the arc and while Cronin coaches good defense, they won’t be able to score enough to hang with one of the best offenses in the nation. Take Marquette.
