10-15 years ago I was a regular in Knoxville for this game, it fell on Columbus Day weekend before the SEC expanded and always the weekend that worked best for all of my friends (one of which went to Tennessee) since some had that Monday off so this was always the game we went to.
Tennessee gets up for this game, they did prior to Georgia being elite and they will now that they get their crack at the top team in the country. Tennessee was so miserable getting blown out by Missouri last week while Georgia destroyed Ole Miss that I thought we might see a +10.5 but it looks like +9.5 wont be the worst of it as this one is heading down to +8 some places.
Georgia has been throttling everyone for the most part but this team isn't invincible (in my opinion) and Tennessee seems worthy enough to give the Bulldogs a game. Georgia also clinched their spot in the SEC Championship and they know Alabama will be their opponent so it's possible a “look ahead” has been created knowing that matchup is set.
I've been there for some BAD Vols teams giving Georgia all they could handle over the years and this Tennessee team, while not a contender this season, is by no means a bad team. Tennessee could care less about the Vandy game so this is the Vols Super Bowl and I don't think it's that much to ask that the Vols keep this one within single digits.
Play on Tennessee +9.5 (-110) for 4% (or 4 units)
