Our selection is on the Winnipeg/ Montreal game UNDER 47
It is always tough to play UNDER in the CFL unless it is a Grey Cup or even a playoff game for that matter. However, the way these defenses are playing this number is out by 2 in our opinion. In fact, we actually played the Grey Cup of 2019 Under and it was an easy winner. We will look for this game to come short of this total as well. Both these teams play great defense and Winnipeg is Number 1 and Montreal is Number 2 in points allowed on the season. Have to believe that these clubs will be very careful with the ball and do what they both do best and that is run the ball. The only way Montreal wins this one is to keep the Winnipeg offense off the field with the running attack. Well you know who also wants to control that clock, that will be HC O’Shea and the best running back in the CFL Brady Oliveira. What Brady did in their two games was to only run over 100 yards in each game. That means tick tick tick of the clock. Looks like no Bighill on defense but the Blue Bombers are so deep on both sides of the ball, we will not worry about the Winnipeg defense. They actually allowed only 6 points on defense to Montreal in the two games they played this season. After what happened to Winnipeg last season in the Grey Cup they will take nothing for granted and believe they will hold Montreal down here. We have a couple of nice trends or what we like to call winning advantages.
The Under is 6-1 in the Blue Bombers last 7 playoff games.
The Under is 7-2 in the Alouettes last 9 games overall.
Montreal did win their last game against Toronto and it went OVER late in the game as there was 28 points in the 4 TH Quarter. The two games played by these clubs this season went one OVER and one UNDER, but a similar thing happened as the 4 TH quarter with 21 points put the one game OVER late. Our point Montreal seem to be a dead UNDER team and Winnipeg can play low scoring games when it counts. That is usually the playoffs. One more thing why we love the UNDER in this spot and that is because of the weather. We talk about Tim Horton Field all the time as the winds swirl around that stadium from all angles. We know the game will have roughly 15 MPH winds at game time and we also know that there is a chance that it will be very tough to throw the ball in a certain direction. That will definitely help us today in some aspect.
Bottom line as long as we do not get the crazy quick scores that do happen in the CFL we might see the first real smash mouth Grey Cup in some time.
So lets get the job done with the Winnipeg/ Montreal game UNDER 47.
