Here’s the quote from Lakers coach Darvin Ham after the Rockets blew out LA last week.  Frankly this entire write-up could be just this quote, as ‘bet-on’ from an opposing coach as you’ll ever find: “They’re going to be a handful to deal with this year…..not just for us, but the other 28 teams besides us.”  Here’s new head coach Ime Udoka’s quote: “We’re taking the right steps.  We’re confident in what we’re doing and it’s gelling quicker than probably some thought.” 

The Rockets come-from-behind win against New Orleans on Friday Night was every bit as impressive as their blowout of the Lakers, because the team responded well to adversity and found a way to steal a victory.  And their tough, muscle up win against the defending champion Nuggets in their last game gives an extra boost of confidence for this surging young squad; clearly a ‘bet-on’ team at this stage of the campaign.  Off since that win over Denver on Sunday, Houston should have plenty of pep in their step this evening.

The Clippers are 0-5 SU since acquiring James Harden and yet bettors’ are flocking to back LA this evening, driving this line up off an opener that was as low as -4.  Harden’s quote is worth noting: “It’s going to take some time, some patience…We’re in it for the long haul.”  That’s not a quote that inspires me to back an ice cold Clippers team being asked to win by margin against the hottest team in the NBA right now! Take the Rockets.
