We're taking the Cleveland Browns to win outright at home on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Full Breakdown
The Pittsburgh Steelers continued their smoke and mirrors start to the season last week with a 23-19 home win against the Green Bay Packers, another game that saw them lose the overall yardage battle for the ninth straight time this season, never having had the advantage in stats this year despite an impressive 6-3 record overall.
Pittsburgh ranks 27th in offensive yards per play this season, 28th in total yardage, and 30th on total first downs, but ranks 2nd in giveaways per game and top ten in interception rate as well, as despite their pedestrian offense, the Steelers have done a solid job of holding onto the ball and limiting their mistakes this year.
That said, they run into a Cleveland Browns defense on Sunday that is truly elite, with the Browns being absolutely lights out at home this season, holding opposing offenses to just 3.1 YPP on average, a full 1.1 YPP better than 2nd placed Baltimore.
Cleveland also ranks #1 in scoring defense at home this year, #1 in opponent 3rd down conversion percentage, and #2 in opponent touchdowns at home as well, and have revenge from an earlier loss in the season against the Steelers, losing 26-22 in Pittsburgh despite owning a massive 408-255 yardage advantage in that game, with four turnovers proving incredibly costly.
Despite having no Deshaun Watson or Nick Chubb in the lineup for this game, with Watson's recent right shoulder issues leading to a significant drop in this line, Cleveland's elite-level defense should prove too much for a vastly over-performing Pittsburgh Steelers offense in this one, and we like the Browns to win outright at home this weekend.
