Dallas absolutely loves dominating bad teams at home, so they did it again on Sunday against the Giants. There is not much analysis that needs to be done from this game. Dallas is better at every level on offense and defense, so they flexed their muscles and dominated a terrible team with a terrible QB. This game was over at halftime. Dak Prescott shredded the defense, CeeDee Lamb went bonkers, and the Cowboys had backups making plays for almost a full half. The Panthers played on Thursday against the Bears, and Carolina mustered 213 yards in the loss. Bryce Young had just 185 yards on 38 passing attempts, but somehow the Panthers had a chance to win it. After inexcusable uses of timeouts, the Panthers opted to take a 50+ yard field goal when they certainly could have made it easier. The kick was short, and the Panthers fell to 1-8, and they do not own their first-round pick. Now, they get to host the Cowboys, who are coming off a huge win. Dallas’ MO this season has been destroying bad teams at home but underperforming on the road. Due to that, we are not interested in laying this big of a number with Dallas, but it’s hard to envision Carolina upsetting Dallas. Their offense is broken, and this team is dead already. Bryce Young has shown nothing to make us want to back him again, and while Dallas should be favored like this, they struggle to go on the road, even against bad teams. Maybe Dallas flexes their muscles again on Sunday, but this is a potential letdown spot for this team, even though the Panthers have been the worst team in the NFL this season.
After taking a deeper dive into this game, we believe this is a letdown spot for Dallas. All season long, they have failed to be good on the road, and they have a classic lookahead spot with a home game vs. Washington at home looming. The Panthers' defense has been quietly pretty solid, and Dallas does not try against inferior opponents on the road. This is a spot to back the ugly home dog.
