3% Take Milwaukee – Toronto OVER (#507-508)
NOTE: Giannis was ruled out about five minutes after I finished this write-up. I still expect a fast pace, plenty of shot making and not much defense…….
Here’s the quote from Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic: “We’re leading the league in potential assists. And that something we really pride ourselves on, moving the ball and playing for each other…..we scored only 12 points in transition on Saturday (in a blowout loss at Boston; their second lowest scoring game of the season). We’re always in fast break….so that was a big deal (Saturday) and definitely slowed us down into entering our offense and executing halfcourt.” Expect a concerted effort to get out and run tonight, especially after a sluggish showing for a full three quarters against Washington on Monday.
The Bucks finished #4 in the NBA in defensive efficiency last year, allowing 109.3 points per 100 possessions for the season. Take away Jrue Holiday and add Damian Lillard? So far in 2023, Milwaukee ranks #26 in defensive efficiency and new head coach Adrian Griffin seems ok with that, so far, and the Bucks rank among the top quartile of the NBA in pace of play this season – they’re playing FAST, uptempo basketball night in, night out.
We saw 241 points in the first meeting between these two teams this season. The Bucks have hung 118+ four times in their last five games. Toronto’s offensive output hasn’t been as consistent, but they, too, have hung 123+ in half of their November games. Expect pace and points, start to finish. Take the OVER.
