(Game Analysis)

Carolina is going to fight here in their second straight divisional game after losing their opener to the Falcons last week. Not sure fight is enough in this one since gap between these teams appears wide at this point. Saints home win over Tennessee last week debuted veteran QB Derek Carr who had instant rapport with his top 3 WR’s (Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed & Michael Thomas = 18 receptions / 262 yards). Carolina secondary wasn’t exposed to a passing game with weaponry and capability last week vs. Atlanta which gives the Saints a distinct edge here. Also have to address the Carolina OL protection for rookie QB Bryce Young which is likely to lose the battle with the Saints aggressive pass rush. HC Dennis Allen who’s a defensive coach by trade figures to bring plenty of heat in this one. Teams are at different stages right now with New Orleans focused on redeeming last season’s playoff absence and Panthers HC Frank Reich still going through growing & evaluation process. Line move to -3 kept this from being rated higher but still see value in backing the Saints to win by 4+.
