Cal Quantrill has been pitching above his head for quite some time. But in the last year or so his fortunes have turned. He comes into today’s game with a 1.45 WHIP and 5.40 ERA. His advanced numbers show a 5.51 xFIP and 5.57 SIERA. His K-BB% is only 4.8, which is only better than Jose Butto and Adam Wainwright on today’s card.
Brady Singer comes in with similar numbers, but his advanced stats show some positive regression. He is starting to show promise on a more consistent basis this season.
The Royals are starting to get some reinforcements from the IL, and have the better hitting lineup at the moment. They should be favored in this one.
