2% #267 Indianapolis Colts (+1) over Houston Texans —
Battle of the rookie QB‘s & new head coaches, and the chase to see who can bounce back in week 2 after a big loss in their opener.
Indianapolis lost 21-31 to Jacksonville, but I thought they played better than anticipated. Richardson came in and went 24-37 passing, throwing for 223 yards with a TD. He added another TD with his feet, rushing for 40 yards to add to his numbers but his did throw an INT. There is something to be said though the his coach came out after the fact and took the blame for that INT because of the play-calling. Their defense managed to force 2 TOs against a quality Jacksonville offense, and that could be a difference making aspect.
I do expect Houston to play a little bit better here, but not to the point that I would list them as the favorite in this game. They have concerns on the defensive side of the ball with injuries, Pitre and Ward, both safeties, are listed as OUT, while Neville Hewitt (LB) is also listed as questionable.
As usual, a few trends to close it out:
That final trend makes A LOT of sense to me … you only get 6 DIV games, you can’t waste them, especially dropping the opener!
