3% #195 Syracuse Orange (-2) over Purdue Boilermakers —
This is just the 3rd meeting between these two teams, Purdue dominated the inaugural meeting back in 2004, but Syracuse took the W just over a year ago @ H. Now they are a BIGGER favorite playing @ Ross-Ade Stadium in Indiana and I am backing the Orange again.
Syracuse has one big injury concern, Oronde Gadsden II, BUT even if he doesn’t go … the WR’s for this Orange team have already showed that they can step up, and could be a little more reliable than last season. Freshman Donovan Brown has already record 89 yards and a TD on just 3 receptions, as well as captain Damien Alford, Umari Hatcher and Isaiah Jones.
This will be essential because when Purdue lets the ball get all the way to the receivers, they have struggled to bring them down this year. Purdue is allowing nearly 13 YARD PER COMPLETION, 96th in the FBS thus far.
Purdue is 0-5 ATS in their L5 home games, and I think this could be a massive look-ahead spot as Ryan Walters gets set to kick off his B10 schedule for the first time next week against Wisconsin, with his ex-team to follow, Illinois.
