Lane Kiffin has done a fantastic job of bringing talent into Vaught–Hemingway Stadium, but the question has always been about how well his staff can develop them and keep them focused. Last year, Ole Miss was in this exact same spot. They started the year 3-0 and out-scored those three opponents 129-13. Their final non-conference game was against Tulsa before the Rebels hosted No. 7 Kentucky the following week. Ole Miss was a 21-point favorite in that contest with the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa's starting QB was knocked out of that game, and Ole Miss still only won the game by eight. Fast-forward to this year. Ole Miss has won its first two games 110-27. They are just shy of a three-touchdown favorite over Georgia Tech this week. The Rebels travel to Alabama next week. Sound familiar? Good luck trying to keep them focused on the task at hand this week. Ole Miss took care of business last week against Tulane, but the Green Wave was missing starting quarterback Michael Pratt, and the final score is a lot more flattering toward the Rebels than the box score. Tulane was up by a touchdown at halftime and was comfortably covering the spread for 55 of the 60 minutes last week before some late shenanigans, including a defensive touchdown. In our opinion, the Rebels are getting a little too much credit in the market, for what eventually turned out to be a 17-point win. Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King brings a passing attack to Atlanta that Yellow Jacket fans have not seen in a long time. Even if Ole Miss jumps out to a comfortable lead, King is capable of knocking down the back door in the second half.
