Inclined to take back at this point where number has been pushed down through 50, 49 & 48 which represent legitimate landing spots in this matchup. Maryland offense hasn't really gotten rolling yet where points are concerned. They've shown a 21 point quarter in each of their games (1 in the 1Q & 1 in the 4Q) and seemingly walked through the other six. Their 489.5 total yardage average indicates they have plenty of firepower to do more and anticipate them doing that tonight vs. this subpar Virginia defense. Cavs defense has been gashed for 6.0 yards per play by Tennessee & James Madison with little resistance to opposing ground or air attacks. That makes Maryland's well balanced offense a prime candidate to do damage here as RB Roman Hemby can feast and open up the explosive passing attack led by QB Taulia Tagovailoa. UVA will be required to score 17 or more here and last week's results (35 pts & 377 py vs JMU) signal strides are being made. Terps first 2 games totaled 44 (with FCS Towson only contributing 6) and 58 in last week's 38-20 win over offensively “medicore at best” Charlotte. Virginia's offense certainly as capable as those two and maybe a bit better. With Maryland very likely to post al least 38 points again, see an opportunity here on the “over”.
