We're taking the Pittsburgh Steelers to cover at home in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.
Full Breakdown
Two teams who put in vastly different performances last week meet on Monday night in primetime as the 1-0 Browns take on the 0-1 Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The Browns dismantled the Cincinnati Bengals last week via a 24-3 blowout at home, restricting Joe Burrow to just 82 yards through the air in that game, with a total of just six first downs for the Bengals as well.
Pittsburgh can somewhat sympathize with those numbers for Cincinnati as they didn't fare much better against the San Francisco 49ers last week either. The Steelers struggled through the air in that game, averaging just 3.9 YPPA, along with 41 total yards on the ground also.
However, we're expecting a much better performance from Pittsburgh in Week 2 as they look to rebound off that poor performance in Week 1. The Steelers opted to go predominantly through the air last week against San Francisco, a tactic that drastically backfired for them as San Francisco completely shut Kenny Pickett down for 2 INT's, and we can't see Pittsburgh making the same mistake again here, especially with the injury to WR Diontae Johnson in the 3rd quarter of that game as well.
That means the Steelers likely go to ground in this one, and should find success against a Cleveland Browns defense that ranked 26th against the run last season away from home, giving up a sizeable 142.2 RYPG on average.
Pittsburgh have a tremendous record in their home city against Cleveland across recent seasons, winning 19 of the last 20 matchups here against the Browns since 2004.
