5% #263 Los Angeles Chargers (-3 ; +100) over Tennessee Titans —
It is hard to argue that the Chargers sit anywhere outside the top 3 offensively after their shoutout last week. It obviously leaves some questions with their defense, giving up that kind of performance to Tua, Tyreek and the Dolphins. Yet, there were high expectations for that offense already, and the Chargers’ offense isn’t getting the credit it deserves in that game.
They just barely lost, coming down to the last possession, and their offense put up 433 yards and didn’t turn the ball over. They scored 34 points, thanks to 3 rushing TDs, including one from Ekeler and one from Herbert. They got the running game down with Ekeler and their passing game could really go off here.
The Chargers are 9-2-2 ATS vs. the Titans, and 11-2 SU in those games. Plus, when you look at what they have done in the last few years things get more convincing…
The Titans turned the ball over 3 times last week, and allowed Derek Carr to put up 282 passing yards. They are just 2-3 ATS @ H vs. NDIV opponents in the L2Y, and have covered just 2 of their L8 games overall! Over the L8 regular season games, back to LY, the Titans have lost ALL of them … including 4 straight SUATS losses @ H.
I think there are too many weapons on this Chargers offense for the Titans to stop them all. Plus, I anticipate the defense showing some improvements this week, seeing as the offense was the reason they were in that game until the end last week.
