Week 2 of the NFL is also known as overreaction week. With the Aaron Rodgers season-ending injury, everyone expects the Jets to be a complete disaster, and I'm not one of those people. The Jets proved in their week one game that they are a great team, even without Rodgers. The Jets have a top-rated defence and proved that with a heavy pass rush on Josh Allen and intercepting three passes on the night, holding the Bills to only 16 points.
Breece Hall showed that he is back in full health and made that known with a huge run right out of the gate, and I expect the run game to be a massive part of their success against the Cowboys. Hall carried the ball ten times for 127 yards, averaging 12.7 yards per carry. Zach Wilson was serviceable for the Jets; he made his reads and made the simple play, and although he's been the starter many times, he did not plan to go in that game. Wilson finished with one passing touchdown, one interception and 140 yards through the air. I believe the New York Jets have a deep locker room and should be a team worthy of backing if we continue to see massively discounted prices on them since Zach Wilson is now the QB.
The Dallas Cowboys are coming off the blowout of the week. Dallas defeated the Giants 40-0, and I don't care if it was 27-0 or 40-0; either way, it was a blowout, but many people will think much more of it since the Cowboys put up so many points. Many of those points from the Cowboys were from excellent field position due to interceptions and great special team's play. When a team puts up 40 points, and the starting QB only throws for 143 yards, that should tell us all we need to know about how that game wasn't really due to great offence but a great defence.
The Jets have a great defence that will cause problems for the Cowboys, and New York's deep set of receiving options and a great RB room will help them hang around in this game and easily cover the 9.5 spread against the Cowboys.
