3% Take Colorado State (#207)
My clients and I cashed a winning bet ON Colorado last week at home against Nebraska, laying less than a field goal with the Buffs against a team that finds ways to lose. The Huskers did just that, unable to take advantage of Colorado’s first half struggles and falling apart after halftime.
But Colorado didn’t win that game by more than 23 points. They didn’t win their Week 1 game against Top 25 TCU by more than 23 points either. Up next? A road trip to #13 Oregon to open up their PAC-12 slate. This is the CLEAR flat spot on the Buffaloes schedule, and now they’re laying more than three touchdowns in a ‘survive and advance’ type of ballgame.
Colorado State can’t match Colorado’s talent level or team speed. But the ‘little brother’ in this rivalry game would be 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings between these two teams at +23 – they’ve been able to hang around in these games. Unlike Colorado with both ‘letdown’ and ‘lookahead’ issues, the Rams are coming off a bye week – focused on nothing but Colorado – with a non-conference roadie next week – there’s no lookahead. Rams head coach Jay Norvell is ‘bet-on’ in this situation; plain and simple. Too many points! Take Colorado State.
