I’m not sold on Tampa Bay just because the Bucs were able to steal a Week 1 win at Minnesota. The Vikings were awful for much of that game, finishing with a -3 turnover margin. Tampa was tied 10-10 at half, despite having failed drives of 5, 5, 1, 7, 14, 0 and 2 yards. They had a 16 play TD drive to open the second half and another FG to win. But there was precious little offensive execution for the Bucs in that ballgame – they took advantage of Vikings miscues. Tampa had a grand total of one offensive play longer than 16 yards while gaining a woeful 3.6 yards per play. Those are not ‘let’s lay points with this team’ type of stats!
I’m not ready to bail on the Bears season because they struggled in their opener against a Packers team that I’ve got a 5% Big Ticket wager on the Over 7.5 wins this season. Green Bay is a pretty good team; the markets failed to reflect that last Sunday. Tampa ain’t Green Bay…..
It’s worth noting how the Bears reacted to last week’s loss to Green Bay; a game they had circled on their calendar all summer. Safety Eddie Jackson: “You’ve just got to let the truth soak in. As much as it hurts, as bad as it feels….Put the corrections in and just have that in our mindset that we can’t ever let that happen again.” Live dog here, in this bettor’s opinion, worthy of a ‘sprinkle’ on the moneyline as well. Take the Bears.
