Tracy Cortez should be the clear favorite in this spot.

I know I know, let's get it out the way… Tracy's a full on smoke show and Brian Ortega completely dropped the ball with her. Anyways, that's a conversation for another time. To start, I believe Cortez is by far the better fighter anywhere the fight goes and more explosive. Jasmine Jasudavicius was a sizebale underdog to Miranda Maverick and somehow comes into this fight close to even money against Tracy? Nah. Market reacting to Jasmine's most recent victory over Miranda displaying a fighter unable to out wrestle Jasudavicius. Yea, it wasn't a great showing from our girl “Fear The” Maverick, as she had no success with takedowns and furthermore was reversed losing top control repeatedly. Jasmine got the W, yet still believe there's many holes in her game. While I couldn't be anymore impressed with Cortez last performance against, at the time, undefeated rising prospect Melissa Gatto. Melissa is a well rounded fighter with high level grappling, solid striking and physically strong. Tracy not only held her own on the feet, but displayed incredible strength in tough spots winning basically all grappling situations, steering clear of danger and reversing from bottom position controlling the action. What's going to be a clear issue for Jasmine will be defending Cortez strong takedown ability. Her first step is quick and extremely well timed either off a counter or disguised behind combinations, while Jasmine's slower footwork and wide stance should provide a landscape for takedowns. Even when Jasudavicius wildly throws punches pushing forward Tracy will level change on those openings. Once on the mat Tracy has slick transitions working to hunt a submission or bank a round on top. Don't see where Jasmine will have success and believe line is off here. Only reason this isn't a 4% is due to the time Tracy has been out of the cage. Hasn't fought since May of 2022 and canceled her last bout with Amanda Ribas as well due to “personal reasons” (I'm looking at you Brian Ortega) but now general sense from those in her camp is 100% focus. If she's anywhere near her normal capability or even improved she should grab the dub with ease wrestling. Let's not forget the UFC absolutely LOVES this girl and feels like a favorable match up.
