Daniel Zellhuber (-265) vs Christos Giagos:
Overall I'm pretty high on this 24 year old rising prospect in Daniel Zellhuber. Solid striking with slick footwork and rangy combinations. Displayed finishing ability with 9 of his 13 pro wins coming inside the distance. Saturday night he'll find a lot of success on the feet picking Giagos apart working behind a snapping jab and his 5.5 inch reach advantage. This will be key in distance management staying on the outside utilizing his array of attacks. Pushing the pace will also be key as early I expect Giagos going for broke swinging wildly seeking to level change. Wrestling will be Christos attempted path yet he's shown to be sloppy on the mat. Furthermore, he simply doesn't have the gas tank to repeatedly fuel these takedowns over 3 rounds. Sure he may sellout for one early but I don't believe he'll find it as a winning formula. With more athleticism and range I believe Giagos struggles cutting distance while taking damage. Plus we've seen him get smoked by step up in competition yet beats literally bottom of the barrel fighters. After getting finished in back to back fights Christos KO'ed Ricky Glenn round 1. Now on paper, sure it looks good although Rocky Glenn looked terrible that fight. Guy looked slow with ring rust and no real pop in his punches. With Zellhuber training at elevation his gas tank should be on point with ability to push a higher volume being the far more technical striker with crisper hands and speed in the pocket should find Giagos chin all fight.
Loopy Godinez (-400) vs Elise Reed:
There's just not much Elise Reed can do in this fight to be successful and the line is indicating it. Each fight it appears as if Loopy elevates her overall game sharpening areas that needed work. What's been impressive is her improved striking and quick developing combinations. Having a better understanding of rangy, countering and set ups Godinez truly rounding off her skill set. While on the other side Reed just doesn't offer up much danger with a clear vulnerability… grappling. Loopy is a Women's Canadian wrestling champion and she's about to face Reed who has terrible grappling ability. If Godinez wants to level change she absolutely can which will keep Elise out of rhythm worrying about takedowns opening up the strikes. Adding in Loopy's strength advantage in the clinch and should be able to muscle Reed down easily controlling top position dropping heavy ground and pound or hunting for submissions. Mixing her quick first step on level changes and power I believe Loopy gets her down and could be the fight ending sequence. Most recently Reed faced a low level Jinh Yu Frey who's 11-9 in her professional career going 2-5 in the UFC… and Reed had a tough tough battle with her. Not a good look. Frey took her down multiple times and if Godinez is in those same positions she'd 100% capitalize. Think it's a strong parlay piece as Loopy get's a dominating victory.
