Arizona took game one of the series as they continue their push to make the playoffs. The Mets returned home off off a Road Trip yesterday and lost which puts them in a good bounce back spot today. The Mets can only play spoiler the rest of the season and that is exactly what I expect from them today. Arizona sends Ryan Nelson to the mound who has been rocked in 3 of his L5 starts. His ERA in his L3 starts is 10.03 while his WHIP is 1.71. Nelson has struggled in Night Games as his ERA for the season at night is 5.88 with a WHIP of 1.42. It must be noted that 18 of the 22 HR’s he has allowed were in Night Games. The Mets send Jose Butto to the mound who made his 1st start in 4+ months last week going 6 2/3 innings allowing just 2 runs while posting a 6-1 K/BB ratio. That tells me he had full command of all his Pitches in that outing. In his 2nd start back I would expect him to be even stronger. We also find the following:
