3% #303 Notre Dame Fightin’ Irish (-7.5) over NC State Wolfpack —
Granted, I know that Notre Dame started off the season against teams like Navy and Tennessee State, but regardless, consecutive games of 500+ yards of offense is impressive. On the defensive side of the ball they have only allowed 54 more yards than NC State has … the difference, Notre Dame has played 2 games to the Wolfpack one.
Even though Notre Dame has played an “easier” schedule, UConn isn’t exactly a power-5 team either, and Notre Dame is 2-0 SUATS this season. In that game against UConn, NC State failed to cover as a 14.5 point favorite.
Notre Dame, backed by Sam Hartman has looked good thus far in the season, and against their “conference” opponents the Fightin’ Irish is 8-1 ATS vs. ACC in the L3Y (winning by 21+ PPG).
The Wolfpack failed to cover in a “walk-in-the-park” game last week, but historically this isn’t a great spot for HC Doeren (NC St.), who is 5-14 ATS as a D of (+3.5)-(+10).
Notre Dame has had two games to get ready for their first ”real-test” but only time will tell if it truly amounts to that. Notre Dame definitely has the edge in this game and seem to be hitting their stride already with the experienced transfer QB.
