Seattle Mariners -1.5 (-123) B Miller (RHP) Must Start:
We continue to fade the Oakland Athletics, who are a league worst 18-30 to the run line as underdogs and a league worst 8-16 to the run line as visitors. The Seattle Mariners are 12-2 in their last 14 home games against left-handed starters and they are facing a vulnerable southpaw on Wednesday night. Ken Waldichuk has given up 5 or more walks in his last three outings while surrendering 10 earned runs on 18 hits across 15 innings. Waldichuk is backed by the worst bullpen in the majors with a 6.53 ERA, the next worst bullpen ERA sits at 5.25. Bryce Miller has been outstanding in his rookie campaign with a 2-1 record, 1.42 ERA and 0.51 WHIP. Miller dominated the A's in his debut, allowing only one run on two hits while striking out 10 across six full innings. Miller is backed by a bullpen that ranks 3rd with a 3.07 ERA. Oakland has been horrendous against right-handed pitching with a .214 batting average and .299 on-base percentage. Ty France was hit a pitch on his hand last night and while x-rays were negative, I don't expect him to play. Regardless, Waldichuks propensity for giving up baserunners along with his 13 home runs allowed across only 46 innings is going to be a recipe for disaster.
