LISTED STARTERS
PAXTON/ ANDERSON
Our selection is on the Boston Red Sox
We had the Red Sox yesterday and for the third straight day the Red Sox shit the bed at the plate. They made Griffin Canning look like the next coming of Nolan Ryan and we believe that the Red Sox bats get going today. We mentioned that Canning was just what the doctor ordered for Boston and we were dead wrong. Well today we believe that same thing about Tyler Anderson. Boston have won 6 out of their last 7 starts against LH pitching and they face Anderson who really struggles at home. Anderson has a 7.20 ERA with a WHIP of 1.733 in all home starts this year. Boston are hitting LH pitching much better this last month improving their batting average 20 points higher from May 1ST. We will look for this club to show some pride here after being shutout last night. Playing a team off of a shutout is something we like to do if the matchup is good and the numbers are as well. This will be the second time that Boston has been shutout in the last three days. They have scored 1 run in those 3 games. Tonight is the night they get runs early and often. The Red Sox have seen Anderson at home this season and scored 6 runs in 4 innings. We would love to see the Red Sox get better facing Anderson in this spot. The Red Sox send James Paxton to the hill and he has very few starts over the last 3 years but the 2 he has had this year have been solid. They also came against two really good hitting lineups in STL and SD. We like the fact that Paxton can strike someone out when needed. In fact, in his two starts he has 14 SO to only 3 walks. We will look for another solid outing from James tonight. The fact that the Angels are only 2-5 in their last 7 games at home against a LH starter just solidifies our selection.
So lest get the job done with the Boston Red Sox.
