3% Take Houston (#923) (action)
The Astros got former MVP and offensive sparkplug Jose Altuve back in the lineup this past weekend; an impact player on the offensive side. They’re playing their best baseball of the year – by FAR – right now: 7-0 in their last seven contests; 10-1 in their last 11. Their pitching has been consistently strong during this stretch, allowing more than four runs only once. This is a BET ON team right now, plain and simple as they make their backers $$ after a subpar start to the season.
Milwaukee is on the other end of the spectrum. The Brewers started hot: 14-5 in their first 19 games. Frankly, they’ve been overpriced ever since, 11-16 in their last 27 games and returning home after losing BOTH series on their just concluded road trip. Starter Corbin Burnes has been good but not unhittable – I’m listing ‘action’ here, because we’ll be getting the best of the number if he gets scratched for any reason. The Brewers bullpen behind him has shown cracks of late; the Astros have every key arm rested and ready off a complete game shutout victory yesterday. The betting markets have this game priced near pick ‘em, but the Astros have clear edges to get the ‘W’ on Monday Night. Take the Astros.
