Seattle Mariners -1.5 (-136) L Castillo (RHP) Must Start:
The Oakland Athletics are hands down the worst team in baseball with a 10-38 record including an 18-30 record to the run line. Oakland starter Kyle Muller is sporting a 7.71 ERA and 1.95 WHIP while allowing 16 runs across 13.1 innings in his three May starts. Muller is backed by a bullpen that ranks dead last with a 6.49 ERA. Seattle starter will be looking at this a bounce back spot after a tough start against the Boston Red Sox, but he is still the Mariners ace with a 3.31 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. Oakland struggles against right-handed pitching, ranking 29th in batting average, 27th in OPS, 23rd in wRC+ and 24th in ISO. Castillo will be backed by a bullpen that ranks 4th with a 3.08 ERA. The Mariners swept a three-game set in Oakland in early April, covering the run line in two of three games. This will be a four-game set at home where they have every advantage to open it up with a run line cover.
