3% Take Baltimore (#911) (action)
Toronto stinks right now; an easy team to fade as favorites. The results do not lie. The Blue Jays have lost four of their last five, scoring four runs or less in all five of those contests; an underachieving lineup that simply isn’t hitting. They’ve been at their worst stepping up in class against fellow AL East teams, just 5-10 in 15 games against their own division. Starter Alex Manoah is supposed to be an ace, but he’s only recorded an out after the fifth inning once in his last seven starts. All three previous May starts have been rough: 30 baserunners (including 12 walks) and 13 runs allowed in just 13.2 innings of work.
The Orioles have won three of their last four and seven of their last ten; consistently playing winning baseball. The Orioles have the superior bullpen by a fairly wide margin this year, and starter Grayson Rodriguez has ‘ace’ level potential, with three gems in his last five trips to the hill. Live dog here; an ‘action’ wager – I still like Baltimore if either starter gets scratched. Take the Orioles.
